I have a few old pages that receive some traffic but not as well as before. When do you think that it’s time to upgrade the current content rather than rewrite the whole page
If the page still ranks and gets some traffic, improve outdated information, content gaps, title/CTR, internal links, and examples. A full rewrite makes more sense when the current page no longer satisfies the search intent or competitors are answering the query in a completely different way.I have a few old pages that receive some traffic but not as well as before. Traffic alone shouldn’t be the deciding factor for a rewrite. I would verify impressions, rankings, backlinks, and search intent before taking any steps; sometimes a page with poor traffic numbers still has some equity that can be improved on.If the traffic has dropped to a zero and near to zero then the page has to be rewritten as the it holds no valuable backlinks and if the ranking is in 2-4 pages then there is no need for it to be rewritten.
Absolutely, I would first make sure that the site had some authority through the Google Search Console and that the backlinks were good before making any changes to the site.I would consider whether the page is still getting traffic or has some quality backlinks before I rewrite it. It might just need updating rather than a complete rewrite to get it back on track.
Where the page continues to receive impressions i would updates it rather than blowing it up. It was more appropriate to do a fullyy re write when the intention changes or when the content is completely irrelevant.I have a few old pages that receive some traffic but not as well as before. If the page still gets traffic and matches the search intent, I’d update it rather than start over. Refresh outdated info, Improve weak sections, Add missing topics and check what competitor's are doing better.I have a few old pages that receive some traffic but not as well as before. As long as there is some life in terms of impressions and some gud search phrases on the page, I would rather not blows it up. Improves the poor parts first before actually rewriting it.I have a few old pages that receive some traffic but not as well as before. It was not often that i would redo a whole page because traffic was low. If the old page is ranking for any thing and have quality content I would revamp it and see what google does.I have a few old pages that receive some traffic but not as well as before.
