Hello Everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I’ve recently launched a completely new website from zero, and I’m now at the stage where I want to seriously focus on ranking it organically.

The website is in the gambling/betting niche, targeting India. Indexing is already done, and the website currently has almost 2,000 pages indexed/available.

The main keyword I’m targeting has an Ahrefs Keyword Difficulty of around 31 (Hard).

My goal is to see how far I can take the website in the next 30 days, but rather than blindly throwing backlinks at it, I’d like to understand what experienced SEO people here would actually recommend.

I’ve already tried reaching out to freelancers and people on different platforms for backlink-related help. Unfortunately, most of the responses I receive are basically:

“Send me your domain first.”
I’m not comfortable doing that without understanding what someone is actually planning to do, especially when it comes to a brand-new website.

So instead, I thought I’d ask the BHW community.

I’m looking for discussion, experience and practical advice — not necessarily someone selling me a service.

I’d be interested in hearing opinions on:

  • How you would approach SEO for a completely new website
  • When you would start building backlinks
  • What type of backlinks you would prioritize
  • How you would approach a competitive gambling/betting niche
  • Building topical authority
  • On-page and technical SEO
  • Internal linking for a ~2K-page website
  • Digital PR / editorial links
  • GEO / AI-search optimization
  • DA/DR and whether you actually focus on these metrics
  • What you would realistically expect within the first 30 days
  • Mistakes you would avoid with a brand-new domain
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually ranked new websites in competitive niches, rather than generic SEO theory.

The main reason I’m posting here is that there is a lot of conflicting information around SEO, especially when it comes to backlinks. I’d rather learn from people with real experience and build a proper strategy than start buying random links and potentially damage the domain.

So, BHW — what would you do if this were your website?

Open to all genuine discussion, experiences, case studies and suggestions.

Let’s discuss.

It's a good initiative.

But for a new website with 2000 pages is a huge move may be you have reduced some. Because the site is newly indexed now, it requires good page speed for visitors; only then will you get good CTR results and growth.

Have you given internal links to all the pages, or only the important pages, as you think?

The on-page and technical aspects mainly depend on the number of pages and the images you made, and you have to optimize them more precisely.

Once the site is indexed, you will start building backlinks and start with niche-relevant manual links, not automated links, because the August core update is rolling out, so don't get more links at a lower price. And use only your brand and Exact keywords, not generic ones, at this time

Within the first 30 days, you can't expect any results. There is a possibility of an increase in DA, DR, Keyword rankings, and organic traffic with only a good budget and quality links you build
