Getting forum links that sit snug in real convos can actually send a nice trickle of eyeballs, especially if you drop them where folks are genuinely chatting about your niche. Forums with strict mods keep things cleaner too, so your links stick around longer. What’s worked for me in 2026 is finding active threads and jumping in with answers before I even think about dropping a link.

mostly useless for ranking power since almost all profile signature links are nofollow now. they are only good for driving direct targeted traffic or building a natural looking backllink anchor profile imo.

I used to pepper my links everywhere, but these days I only stick them in threads where I’d actually chat anyway. It’s quicker to get traffic on niche forums since folks are laser-focused on the topic. Search engines seem to mostly brush past sketchy posts now, so dropping a link in some dusty corner doesn’t really pay off like it used to.

Can be a good way to drive traffic if u also post quality content.

Ranking, on another hand, is debatable.

You should try target posts that are already ranking. Also, your posts should be relevant to your niche.

you guys are missing the real play here. obviously direct juice to a money site is pretty much dead with forum links. but they are still great for tier 2... like using them to index your Web 2.0s or cheaper guest posts. also if you find a high DR forum you can easily rank the actual thread itself for low competition keywords. parasite seo on forums still works well if you do it right.

Yes, forum backlinks works if they are relevant to the topic. I have tested this on my ecommerce website and I observed it works.
