Reddit ban solutions

Hihi,
Current plan is probably to just use the new phone (different iCloud), new account (made w different email & in different IP), only use cellular and not my wifi (strict), use safari private browser and log out/clear reddit tab when done.
I’m trying to appeal (the original appeal succeeded), although I now have the ban evasion perma ban since I was pretty dumb and didn’t appeal first. Trying to appeal that, don’t know if I can say it’s also my brother’s fault or something. So this is a backup plan.
Also, not looking to do anything shady, just normal stuff and questions etc. By consistent network, if I just use that new phone and sim most of the time when using reddit (but never the wifi), then that counts as consistent right?
Ty

I'd focus on the appeal rather than constantly changing devices, browsers and IPs. If the goal is just normal Reddit use fixing the original issue is probably the safest long term approach.

Yea, ik

setup 2 with its own Sim is better. safari is the on ios. go super slow at first and never use the app. The old wifi connection is still a risk though.

How can I mitigate the wifi risk without completely swearing off wifi on that phone? Cuz I don’t really want it to be exclusively for reddit
Is my isolation routine good to mitigate that risk? (Cellular only for Reddit, turn off wifi, etc)

I avoid trying to mask the wifi device. if reddit flagged the account the safer route is to appeal it and keep the setup consistent rather than trying to work around the restriction

I think people are focusing too much on one signal like IP, browser or device. Reddit probably looks at the whole combination and gives different weight to each signal depending on the account.

Your second setup is obviously cleaner than reusing the old phone/hotspot, but I still wouldn’t assume “new phone + new SIM + new email = zero chance of ban.” If the account already has a ban-evasion association, behavior and account history can matter just as much as the technical setup.

Also, Safari private mode is not some magic anti-fingerprint tool. It helps isolate cookies/session data, but Reddit can still see the IP you’re currently connecting from plus plenty of browser/device characteristics.

Since one of your appeals was actually accepted, I’d try appealing the ban-evasion restriction too before creating more accounts. Every new banned alt just adds more noise to the situation.
