Have you ever tried to hypnotize yourself?

I never tried it, but apparently some people are doing that to sleep better, cope personal issues or even be more productive.

What is your take on this matter? If you tried it, what were the results and benefits?

You mean meditation?

Be careful messing around with your mind, it can have unexpected results, most of the stuff out there is not real anyway thankfully. The real stuff left is very rare and more interesting. However your constant positive affirmations, verbalizing, visualizing, and feeling your wishes will eventually manifest. So in a way it works like meditation.

Actually it didn't work on me. I tried 'insight timer' app where I found some sleep music and sleep guide. This helped me a lot to sleep better. You can try. I hope you will not regret.

In the same vain, I like to do a bit of conditioning, such as eating fewer sugary things and working out more consistently. It’s a little like self-hypnosis in a way, semantics be damned.

Never tried it, but I’ve tried yoga and meditation.

I really meant hypnosis, actually becoming in a trance state
it happens automatically while you work or exercise and things where you focus, you naturally go in and out of trance states all day. When you say "I better get this shit done" and you do it. Congratulations, you just hypnotized yourself into a state to do it. lol

There is a lot of hypnois and state management in NLP (psychology) Dr richard bandler worked with the premium hypnotist (the father of hypnois ) milton erikson to develop NLP.

Isn't hypnosis basically a scam?
nope

i read many books of it when i was in the jail for some years, it can calm your mind down, it can extend your mind and it can degenerate others mind
even your voice, can be a hynpotic factor to others if you know how to do it
even some womens depends on your sex ofc, can be a hypnotic factor

Basically, if you start counting your breaths, you enter a self-hypnotic pre-state, but most people are too distracted and think it doesn’t work it just needs more time.

Where do you find the real stuff that is left then?

It's definitely not magic, and it's not mind control
