well i have had my share of odd swings myself. pages that were performing decently all of a sudden dropped down in rankking while pages that are older nd thinner have managed to climb up so it is not really easy to pinpoint just one thing.
One of the weirdest things I’ve seen is pages suddenly swapping positions for the same keywords, while overall traffic stayed relatively stable.
Yea... I saw where sites lost their large amt of traffic even though rankings for some of it main keywords barely move. I usually check whether loss is concentrated around specific pages, queries or search intent before blame of update. Sometimes bigger changes is which page google choose to show.
Yehh, it is just weird how this whole page swapping works. I have seen this happening before where the overlap of purpose was greater than linking/content.
One of the strangeest things that happens to me is when i see that pages that receive constant traffic all of a sudden starts losing while others that does not get much traffic remain un changed. it appears to me at times like google just changed its signals rather than penalizing me.
I’ve seen some strange swings too, especially pages losing traffic while their rankings barely move, I usually compare the winners and losers, Check search intent and SERP changes, and then look for site-specific issues.
Yeah, I’ve seen some pretty odd swings lately, A few pages lost traffic despite keeping decent rankings, Which makes me think SERP change's and shifting search intent are playing a big role.
