Is seo still important for you tube videos in 2026?

I still pay attention to YouTube SEO because it helps the algorithm understand what the video is about Good titles descriptions and keywords are useful but I think strong thumbnails watch time and audience retention have a much bigger impact on long term growth

Being lazy is when you think SEO isn't important.

Yes it works,we want focus much on thumbnails and it make 30 make the caption which is highly rated related to the content

honestly yes I still focus on SEO while ranking my videos, the title, caption, tags , decription each of that matters a lot

I see SEO as the foundation, not the whole strategy. If your thumbnail, hook, and retention are strong, SEO gives your videos an extra advantage instead of carrying them on its own.

Yeah i still do basic youtube SEO. Titles, keywords and descriptions help discovery, but imo it is retention and viewer satisfaction that determines where the video will go from there

I still do basic YouTube SEO. A good title and description helps, but I spend more time on the thumbnail and keeping people watching.

I still consider YouTube SEO important mainly because it helps the right audience discover a video. Strong titles and relevant keywords can improve visibility but they cannot make up for content that viewers quickly lose interest in. In my experience valuable content and strong audience retention have a much bigger impact.

Yes I think it is definitely worth doing. but rather than spending all your tym on tags and keyword stuffing i think you should focus more on your title, thumbnail and retention.

You can still do YouTube SEO provided that it cost you nothing. Focusing on watchtime and engagement is the best for me.

Yes, a bit. But SEO is no longer just based on keywords and texts you put in your description or tags but in the words you mention in the video itself.

What do you mean? Does your friend get backlinks from YouTube?

SEO still matters, just not like it used to. I still do basic keyword research and optimize the title/description, especially for searchable stuff. But I wouldn't waste hours stuffing keywords everywhere.
Good topic + thumbnail + retention will move the needle way more. SEO gets you in the door, people actually watching keeps the video alive

SEO is also important to support the videos. It does not take much time anyway.

utube SEO works for me as well especially when u want to promote ur video via search. i just would not invest many hours in fine tuning tags and keywords. instead i would concentrate on making the best possible thumbnaiil and first 30 seconds of my video.

SEO still matters, but mostly for helping YouTube understand the topic and capture search traffic. For recommendations, CTR, watch time, and viewer satisfaction seem to matter much more.

I do basic seo mostly in order to inform Youtube about the content of the video. after that it looks like the behavior of the viewers becomes much more important than only key word stuff.

Yes, YouTube SEO is still critically important in 2026, but it has completely evolved. It has shifted away from old metadata-stuffing tactics (like tags and keyword-dense descriptions) and is now driven by AI content-understanding and audience satisfaction.

nope, it's useless, just write "uoteheroeh3094834390" as your next youtube video title and it's fine

just to be someone not answering the same obvious answer, this kind of post must be some kind of dog whistle to attract newbies and spammers
