recently saw a restriction like this for someone I know 'You can't send messages'. He was doing instagram mass DM's (through his personal account on his main phone). with this restriction he couldn't even receive messages from anyone outside.
Now, even though the account has no active restrictions - nobody can message the account unless they are following it.
Has anyone ever seen an error like this before? Does the 'must be a follower' request ever lift for ig mass dms if they are done through the phone?
The specific account is a big and verified account with a blue checkmark.
The meta rep said that from now on every account has a requirement to have an account as follower to message them but i know for a fact that this is not true... there are millions of accounts that can be messaged without you having to follow them.
