HI, I run a small web resource and untill 23 of jul, it only got higher and higher rankings. It reached its maximum of 2300 visitors per day, then suddenly dropped to 1500, then 700, 400 and now it continues to decrease, 200, 190 and so on. I didn't do anything to the website itself. Google search console just shows that I have smaller rankings than usual and doesn't report any problems.
On the graph you can see that I moved from 1-5 visitors per day to 30+ and after it only increased. Reason for that I added 2 links to my website header, they are just synonyms of the same word but it worked. My gues is that someone outranked my website through backlinks ?
What do I do to discover possible issues ?

I remembered then a week before sudden drop I requested google ads on my site, I added their script to my html. After that, they closed my google adsense account and said that I was violating their policy but it's not true. This is the first time I try to place ads. Maybe that could be the reason? They think that I violate rules and dropped my site in rankings.

I’d check GSC before assuming backlinks. Compare the affected period by queries, pages, countries, devices, impressions, clicks, and average position. Also check indexing, manual actions, security issues, and Google’s ranking update history. If the drop is site-wide, investigate technical/content quality; if only certain pages dropped, compare those pages with the competitors now outranking you.
The header links may have helped initially, but the timing alone doesn’t prove they caused the increase or that backlinks caused the later decline. I wouldn’t make major changes until you identify exactly which queries/pages lost visibility.
Actually those 2 links in header generated 95% of traffic. Why I decided to put those links in my header ? I saw them in competitors website.

I would first try to identify the pages/queries that are experiencing a drop in traffic before concluding that this problem is due to backlink isues. other factors can also cause a drop in traffic for your entire site including indexing, manual actions, etc.

From your submission, the decline began exactly at the time you requested for ads on your page. And since your backlinks seemed to perform well, you should isolate them from the issue. I am suspecting the ads request method. Google is becoming stricter by the day, so much so that a little trigger sets off negative reactions. Sort out the ads thing first then audit your overall page.

Usually, a sudden drop is tied to recent algorithm updates or technical issues like indexing errors and lost backlinks.

First compare affected keywords, pages, and competitors in Search Console. Check recent algorithm updates, technical issues, indexing, and backlinks. Don’t assume AdSense caused it without evidence.

I already sent a request to google, saying that I didn't violate policy. It's been like 20 days ago and they say that possible review time is 90 days :weep:

first i would use GSC to find out which exact queries nd pages have been losing clicks nd correllate it with the date of the drop. i do not think the AdSense script could have caused this issue.

Okay, I know exactly which keywords caused the drop. What do I do next ?

however, if you need a genuine residential IP address, you should definitely prefer a home computer. In the case you don’t have such needs, it would be more preferable for you to choose a US Windows VM.

I don’t think that the AdSense code was responsible for this drop in rankings. I would check the dates, indexing actions, manual actions, as well as traffic loss on specific pages, and only then conclude that it’s due to backlinks.

Could be a Google update or some competitors moving ahead. I’d check GSC and see which pages and keywords dropped first. I wouldn’t assume AdSense is the reason without some proof.

I would not assume the AdSense rejection caused the ranking drop. you should check GSC first to see exactly which keywords / pages lost positions. as 95% of the traffic came from those two header links, I woould focus on those pages and compare the current SERPs with the previous results.

Did you check GSC? There must be a reason for the traffic to be reduced that much

Did you make any recent changes around the time it dropped. Check Google console for any manual actions or crawl actions.

Actually there were technical difficulties that could make users quit my website faster than usual and google could see this and lower rank.

but why does google do it so radically...

I would first check whether the drop matches a Google update or changes in the main keywords Search Console can also show which pages and queries lost the most clicks I would not assume backlinks or AdSense caused it without comparing the timing and data first
