Is Instagram becoming more about community than follower count?

I've seen smaller accounts outperform bigger ones simply because their audience is actually engaged. A large follower count looks nice, but it doesn't mean much if nobody's paying attention.
followers have become more of a vanity metric for me lately. small pages are growing faster since they know their target audience and is making content that will get engagement rather than just a scrolls through.

It feels like engagement and relationships matter much more than raw follower numbers now. Have you found that smaller communities with active conversations produce better business results than accounts with large audiences but very little interation?
I believe so also especially when it comes to small accounts. hundreds of people who interacts with your page and even know you can be worth more than millions who do not have any idea about the pages .

i have seen that small pages can actually gets more out of it by virtue of the same people coming back and parti cipating. While it is gud to have a high number in the profile what really counts is the repeatt participation.

From a business perspective, the difference is huge. An audience helps you reach more people. A community gives you something far more valuable, people who will build your brand together.

From a conversion and revenue standpoint, absolutely. A page with 3,000 hyper-engaged followers who trust the creator will consistently drive more sales, leads, and DMs than a 100k page filled with passive scrollers. High follower counts only provide surface social proof now, but community trust is what actually generates revenue.

follow count still matter as a first impression only tho, if you dont have strong community you may loose reach at any point to those followers.

Yes smaller more engaging communities are more valuable than just a big follower count, because you can become an authority to them on a specific niche and thus earn more when you sell them your products and/or services.

yeah followers may appears to be quite high but it will not tell you anything in particulars.
a smaller page which is interactive where people actually talks and trust you shall beat a bigger page which is almost dead.

I think quality is more important than quantity, my friend. You should focus on building an active community. Followers are just a superficial metric because they simply scroll through your content, and may be bought or become inactive.
