How good is medium for traffic generation?

I think Medium is good for getting some initial exposure, especially if your content gets picked up by the right audience. I would not rely on it as my main traffic source though. I see it more as a way to build visibility and send some referral traffic back to my website.

However, they are incredibly strict with promotional links, so you risk a ban if you push products aggressively. Focus on value first, keep the linking minimal, and use it as a syndication channel. :)

medium can be a decent source of referral traffic if you publish genuinely useful content instead of treating it as an advertising platform posting consistently and adding value in comments has worked better for me than trying to promote a service in every article
 
I think medium used to be good and articles were getting indexed within 24 hours but lately, I can't index anything there so I practically stopped using it.
 
Medium can bring traffic, but most of it stays on Medium. It is better for building your profile than getting direct traffic to your website.
 
I've used Medium a little and found it can be useful for getting some extra exposure especially when the topic matches the audience i think posting consistently and keeping promotion subtle is important I'd also be interested to hear how much traffic others are actually getting from it
