Do FAQ Schemas still work for SEO?

Is it still important? I still implement it just in case, but I heard that google stops favouring it now.

i would not use the faq schema for ranking purposes anymore. it can certainly assist google to comprehend the page yet the FAQ rich result visibility has become very limited in comparison with before. i would use the schema for ranking but only if the FAQ is really usefful to the user.
 
i dont use FAQ schema as a major SEO strategy anymore. but i still use it where it genuinely fits the page, but focus more on strong content, search intent, and overall page quality.

FAQ schema is no longer the same for SEO purpose. If using it will make the FAQ page more beneficial for visitors, then I do utilize it but not at the top of my list.
 
I still use it, but honestly I wouldn’t expect it to do much for rankings by itself. I mostly see it as a way to make the page more complete. If it takes 5 minutes to add, I don’t really see a reason to skip it.
 
It depends on how you define it, but to me, most traditional SEO techniques are not primarily, meant for ranking anymore. I still use the basic SEO because it helps the search engine, understand the site and avoid any problems in the future.

Yeah, yeah I agree that a lot of old methods are no longer effective, but at least having proper structure, quality content and some SEO hygiene will help to keep things healthy.
 
Hmmmmmmm..... FAQ Schema still works for helping google understand your content, but it no longer provides faq rich results for most sites. So I'd still implement it when relevant, just not expecting a ranking boost in google.
 
Yeah, I still think it has some value, but I wouldn't depend on it like people used to. Google has clearly gotten better at ignoring or separating third-party content that's mainly there to take advantage of a site's authority.
 
For SEO, spend more time improving the page content and search intent instead of relying on FAQ schema.

Faq schema is not the magic ranking button it used to be, but it's not useless either. The real win is creating helpful answers for users first. Schema just help google understand the content.
 
I still think it is worth implementing when the FAQ content is genuinely useful and matches the page i would not rely on it as a ranking tactic though it is more about helping search engines understand content clearly
 
Still useful for clarity, but I wouldn't rely on it for rankings anymore.

as much as I will keep applying it to the FAQ where applicable, there will be absolutely no value of ranking from just applying this markup. ans quality is what matter most in my opinion.
 
I still use it Maybe it doesn't have the same impact it once had but a good description can still make someone click your page instead of another one
 
I still sprinkle FAQ schema in on some pages, but I don’t count on it to do any heavy lifting for rankings these days. It’s more like adding garnish to a solid dish - looks nicer, sometimes pulls a little extra attention. If your main content satisfies user questions and matches search intent, FAQ bits can make things neater, but in 2026 they won’t really carry the show.
 
From my point of view, FAQs can still help Google understand the page, but we shouldn’t expect them to boost rankings.
 
Not for rich results anymore. Google removed FAQ rich results in 2026, so I’d only keep the schema if it helps structure the page, not for a ranking boost.

for AI Overviews and AI search citations, FAQ schema is actually more useful now than it was for traditional SEO. it gives AI systems a clean structured format to extract answers from. a direct question with a direct answer in schema is exactly what gets pulled into AI generated responses.

so the value shifted rather than disappeared. less about ranking, more about being the source AI search pulls from. if AEO visibility matters to you, i would still implement it properly on pages where the FAQ content is genuinely useful.
