Depends. One my accounts was perma banned for rule 3 (impersonation), I sent them an appeal explaining I have verification vid pinned and the account was restored. However, shadow bans are much harder to appeal, from like 20 accounts, I was able to get only 1 back.

permabans almost never get reversed unless it was a false positive from mass reporting. ive appealed dozens and got 2 back total. what most people miss is your device fingerprint and ip are burned too, so any new account on the same setup dies fast. cut losses, grab a clean residential ip and new browser profile, then warm properly for a few weeks.

In most cases, permanent is permanent once an appeal gets denied. The only real exceptions are accounts that got flagged by automated security bots (like logging in through a dirty proxy or leaked credentials). If you explain the security situation clearly in the appeal form, there is a small chance admins will reverse it

appeals rarely work unless it was an obvious false positive. if you got suspended for ban evasion or spam, reddit already flagged your device fingerprint and ip range. best move is a clean break - new ip, new browser profile, new email, and warm it properly. dont reuse anything from the old setup.
