How would you earn money from freelancing if you had just 8 months before you went homeless?

I can see that you’ve been struggling to earn money online for months. It may be worth taking an offline job so you can start earning as soon as possible. However, if you need to work online, WordPress security is a strong opportunity right now. Many website owners need help updating and maintaining their sites, so you could offer urgent updates, security checks, and monthly support. The key is to act quickly and start contacting potential clients immediately.

I run multiple businesses and have done it for the last years and its going good.

Im also an expertise in AI and web development, you should join the same route as me.

Start a business and work on it, it only takes 6 months if you are consistently enough. That made me stay alive. Work and peace comes together.

Sorry for the late responses, I've been going through some stuff again ;/
Hi,
since others have already answered your question about “how to make money,” I’m going to take the liberty of commenting on the situation as a whole.
First of all, congratulations on coming to this realization. It’s never easy to realize that you’re living in a toxic environment, and I think your decision is the right one.

From what I understand, you can’t open a bank account on your own yet. Have you looked into PayPal, Escrow, or other options? Because once you find clients, they’ll need to pay you, so be sure to explore your options carefully.
Another point: taxes. In your country, do you have to formally register a business? Are the tax authorities very strict? Make sure to look into these details thoroughly.

Are your ID documents up to date? If so, stash them somewhere. Not just any old hiding spot—I’m talking about a truly secure place that only you can access or know about. Same goes for your health records.

Also check which documents you might need to rent an apartment.
As someone else said, prepare for the possibility that you might never return home. So, if you have items you care about, try to bring them out gradually.
I hope your situation gets better soon. Eight months is a long time—you’re probably counting the days—but if you prepare well, much like the heroine in the series *The Glory* (Netflix), it gives you a goal and helps you be patient.
Hey, thank you bro. Paypal is banned here unfortunately, I use crypto/US bank acc currently but crypto is very sketchy so not many people like to pay using it. I also have a USA bank account I opened under my father's name which he doesn't know about so that's my best option I guess.

Nope, tax authorities are very lenient and the informal economy is as much if not greater than the formal. I have my ID card but that's it, I can't take my birth certificate from my parents as they wouldn't give it to me. Idk if I need anything else? Idk any of this honestly and idk who to ask ;-;

Thank you bro, I'll check out that series too!

Forget paid ads. Your focus right now should be one paying customer. Speaking directly to twenty decision makers at local companies will teach you far more than showing one ad to twenty thousand random people who probably won't ever need your service.

My wife has parents similar to yours.

Don't build your plan around what-ifs and maybes. Take care of yourself first.
I've tried cold-calling but it went horrible for me. Nearly got cussed out, but that doesn't matter to me, what matters is that after like 50 calls (I was making my cousin call too so probably like a 100 calls) none of them were productive and most businesses either couldn't put up a manager to the call, didn't care, thought it was a scam, or they couldn't afford even a cheap website/didnt think it was worth it.

So paid ads was my only option ;/. Idk what to do now honestly. Also thank you bro <3

I have not worked with reels specifically for monetization the same way people use youtube views, so I cannot speak too confidently about that part. One thing I would suggest for youtube is not to mix formats too much on the same channel. If you start with shorts, then focus on shorts. If you start with long-form videos, then build the channel around long-form. Shorts usually pay less than long-form videos, but they can still be worth it if the channel starts getting serious volume. The main advantage is that they are faster to produce and easier to test.

I would also consider running a few channels at the same time with different angles or languages. Yes, it takes more time, but on a longer distance it gives you more chances that one of them will start getting traction.
Thank you bro, sounds like a plan. I'll try this out o7

You can become a Middleman reselling other vendors services on Freelancing sites. You don't need to have the skill yourself. Just find the clients and raise money.
But I have the skills, I just can't find clients which is the main issue ;/

I’d build some income and savings before making that decision freelance projects can help you create a safety net over time.
How? I can't seem to be able to earn anything

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/f...or-hiring-or-working-as-a-freelancer.1658599/

I would apply for different platforms, especially alternative ones with Lower competition, as Fiverr and others are super competitive

Also, I'd market my services on Reddit (on posts related to my niche already ranking on Google, commenting on those posts and buying a few upvotes for some cents)
Thank you bro, I've tried Reddit before (after getting several accounts shadow banned) and it was a massive waste of time. You have to make it look super not-obvious that you're looking for a job, or you get downvoted to oblivion. And if you post in a jobs subreddit, they're all a bot wasteland ;/. Idk which other platform I could try except fiverr or upwork. I have to go all in on freelance dot com so I'll probably focus on it for now. Thank you

Firstly, you can search your job on many platforms and you can start what you are good at.You can also do 9-5 for your backup.
I mentioned why I can't do a 9-5 right now, this isn't very helpful but thanks for commenting

I can't work offline, and I'll need to dedicate a lot of time to learning a new skill. Not only am I low IQ, I'm not sure if I even have enough time to learn this stuff. I'll still check it out though thank you very much

How though? How did you attract clients / advertise?

My company gets spam calls multiple times a day offering cheap websites, cheap SEO, etc, and I expect most other companies get those calls too. Those calls are asking random businesses if they want a cheap website, not asking businesses in a specific industry if they want an industry-specific tool they currently lack.

What I meant was choosing one appointment/reservation-heavy industry, like restaurants for example, finding some in your area that don't yet have online booking, then asking an owner or manager for five minutes to demonstrate the system in person.

In my experience, paid Facebook ads aren't a good first step. Even if they reach potential clients, you're paying to promote a product before you know if anyone actually wants it. Speak to your leads first, refine the offer, and use highly targeted ads after you find something that converts well.

At the risk of sounding too nosy, there are actually very few countries where PayPal is banned. So I looked into it, and among the countries in question, several are subject to U.S. sanctions.
Are you sure you have access to a U.S. bank account?
Based on the list of countries where PayPal isn’t available, unfortunately, I don’t know who to refer you to.
You’ll need to get your birth certificate—can’t you request a copy from city hall?

If you're running away mainly to teach your parents a lesson, I'd rethink that plan. Leave because you're ready to be independent, not because you're hoping they'll change. Wait until you have a job or a reliable source of income that can support you, so you leave on your own terms instead of risking having to come back.

I see, I'll have to look into this more but the tech space is very saturated here, plus there are other restrictions like my parents finding out if I talk to too many people on phone since my room is very close to theirs (legit like 5 feet away). Thanks a lot though man, I really resonate with the last sentence, I didn't think about it before

Hey, I'm from Pakistan, sorry i don't know why i didn't specify before. I do, I used a specific app (not endorsing it in any way) and had to show US employment history (I have a US based friend) and it worked. I don't know how to do that plus I can't leave my house without my parents

The tech space is saturated everywhere, but that isn't really relevant to what I suggested. You're not competing for a developer job at some big tech firm, you're selling a reservation system to a local business that doesn't already have one.

my parents finding out if I talk to too many people on phone since my room is very close to theirs (legit like 5 feet away).
Phone calls aren't the only option. Letters work too, or emails, text messages, flyers, a business card left on the counter, or literally anything else that gets your system in front of one local business owner. At this stage, paid Facebook ads are only going to show it to thousands of people who don't own businesses or live in markets you can't reliably serve. You'd get better ROI printing a business card, stapling money to it, and handing it to someone who walks past your house.

The contact method doesn't matter. You don't need ten million people ignoring your ad, you need one buyer.

8 months is plenty of time to build a decent savings buffer. web and ai dev skills still sell really well if you focus on automation scripts and custom bots for businesses. since you dont have a bank account yet you can look into crypto payments from forum clients. just make sure you stack enough cash before making any big life moves.

No problem—it helps me figure out what the issue is.
Actually, your story wouldn't surprise me at all if you were a young woman (especially with the part about the arranged marriage to a cousin and the fact that you can't leave the house on your own).

I'd say don't rush anything, although the impuls is there. Build the life that you want slowly and rational. This will prevent you from getting into more problems than you already have. Sometimes you need to go with the flow and do things that you don't like. A daily 1% life improvement will get you far pretty soon.

It's doable, but starting from zero on freelance platforms won't give you stable income in 8 months. Focus on direct outreach (cold pitching small businesses for web/AI integration) to get quick cash flow.

Hmm, that makes a lot of sense. I was very hesitant on cold calling but the other methods sound good. I've been doing this on X and Reddit already but I gotta maybe create a keyword scrapper for these websites that finds me potential clients. Thank you very much bro

Yeah, I do have a bank account but earning money in the first place is the hard part

You're right but I'm REALLY bad at pitching. I've watched marketing videos but they're generic Wolf of Wall Street that just doesn't work in 2026 where most people don't even wanna do small talk and are busy with their own lives

For now, just focus on local companies. Pick ten that need your services, email them, get ten rejections, adjust your pitch based on those rejections, and pick ten more. Repeat until you get a buyer.

You're right but I'm REALLY bad at pitching.

"I noticed you don't offer online reservations. I built a system that could add them to your site. Could I show you a brief demonstration?"

Three short sentences from a real person is going to land far better than an overly polished spam email going out to thousands.

If they see value in the product, they may buy it. If they don't like it after the demo, ask what they don't like, adjust it where appropriate, and come back with the fixes.

totally get it bro. aggressive sales pitches never work anyway. just keep your outreach super simple and focus only on solving one specific pain point for their business xd

Best advice I've gotten out of everyone here, thank you very much bro. Honestly a lifesaver, I don't know how much time I'd waste if I kept doing the randomly advertising approach. I'll be sure to implement these, matter of fact I'll make a post and credit you if these tips work out for me in 3 months' time. Thanks a LOT

After reading your story, I realize you have many elements that can be developed. You're building a YouTube channel, and you could also share aspects of your life, which would be a topic that attracts many viewers. Just like this post of yours, it could spark curiosity, comments, and debate. This would make your channel more appealing. Beyond YouTube, you could expand to other platforms. You could also use short videos or regular shared content. Nothing beats taking the initiative, building, and persistently working together.
Actually, I quite agree with your idea of making a living by developing media channels. However, it takes time, and the success rate is uncertain. I think the better approach would be to first use a more stable method to generate some income with his current skills, while building own media channels at the same time...

I will focus on creating a online presence first you can even advertise here and using social media should give best results . But you need to be more specific about how you going to help someone not just web development and ai
