Is there a way/place to get a list of dead/abandoned subreddits that can be claimed?
I know of the list in reddit request but those subs are limited. Is there another platform to get a list of these subs?

There's probably a few here, there's probably even a few on Reddit itself. Though to my knowledge, no one conveniently compiles these things publicly, at least not outside private Discord servers or niche BBS. I should check again.

I don't know about any free option that you can get all the dead unmoderated subreddits, however, i saw a sales thread here in BHW offering this service if you are looking for paid options

there are semi-moderated/barely ones(you wont get banned from the sub because theres barely anyone managing it, but i still frequent those as its a niche, i do encounter dead ones, but those will likely alert the adjacent subs(related subs) if you were to try to take over. for a time several subs i visited often was barely moderated, it allowed to much nsfw/illicit content to appear its somewhat better now.

I don't think there's a public list that's much better than RedditRequest. Most people just search for niche subreddits manually and check if the mods are still active. Takes more time, but you can find some good ones that way.

There is a sales thread about that on this forum, it's cheap and decent enough, although it's not updated since january

Easiest way for somebody not being a cheapskate. Invest a little, save your time.

And where do we invest? That was the question in the first place.

I don't know of any reliable public list besides r/redditrequest. Most people find inactive subreddits by searching their niche or using Reddit search, then checking whether the moderators are inactive before submitting a request.
I am currently doing manual search but it is very very hard. There was a subreddit that would list hundreds of dead subs every week but it died a couple of months back.
