Is Facebook Ads still profitable in 2026 for small marketers?

Hi everyone,
I've been working with Facebook Ads for a while, mainly for online businesses. Recently I feel like things are getting harder — higher costs, more account issues, and stricter policies.

I'm curious how others are dealing with this in 2026.
Are you still getting good results with Facebook Ads, or have you shifted to other platforms?

Would love to hear your experiences.
Not Profitable Now In 2026

they're definitely harder than before, costs are higher and you need stronger creatives, better data, and tighter funnels to stay profitable. still doable but it’' less about simple targeting now and more about good offers plus consistent testing and optimization

In 2026, many are shifting toward Google Ads for higher intent and TikTok for lower costs. Meta remains a "volume king," but success now requires first-party data and AI-driven Advantage+ campaigns.

Yes, 2026 is noticeably harder — higher CPM and more random flags. I'm still getting solid results on FB, but only because I use much stronger creatives that stop the scroll or do extremely slow warm-up (low spend first 7 days) or scale very gradually and spread across multiple BMs
Haven’t shifted to other platforms yet — FB still gives the best ROI when executed cleanly.

If you are an experienced marketer and can get 3x to 4x ROAS then yes you can still profit greatly from facebook ads. That is as long as you have good/clever creatives.

Facebook advertising still has the potential to be profitable in 2026, but competition is fiercer and CPM is increasing. Success now depends on experimenting with ad creatives and offering quality rather than simply setting up ads.

Many advertisers feel exactly what you've described: higher costs, more easily restricted accounts, and increasingly stringent policies.
Advertising costs are indeed rising.
Finally, policies and account controls are becoming stricter.
But Facebook Ads is still doing well.
Real-world experience from the media buyer community.
Many marketers are diversifying platforms.
In short:
Facebook Ads isn't dead — but it's completely changed.
I agree with that. Facebook Ads definitely aren't dead, but the way you approach them today is very different compared to a few years ago.

From what I've noticed, advertisers who still get consistent results usually focus much more on creative testing and strong offers rather than relying only on targeting. The algorithm seems to reward accounts that show stable behavior and gradual scaling instead of aggressive launches.

Another thing I see more often now is people combining Facebook with other channels (like TikTok, Google, or organic traffic) instead of depending on just one platform.

So it feels less like the platform stopped working, and more like the learning curve became higher.

Facebook Ads can still be profitable in 2026, but it’s definitely more competitive now. Costs are higher and account stability is a bigger issue. Many marketers still use it successfully, but they focus more on strong creatives, good funnels, and testing consistently.

Facebook Ads will still be profitable in 2026 if you have good creativity and a solid offer . it's just not as easy as it was a few years ago, and most people who say it's dead simply haven't adapted.

In the 2026 advertising landscape, account trust is the "trump card" that determines the fate of every campaign. No matter how creative the content, if the account lacks credibility or has a "clean" history, Meta's AI algorithm will tighten distribution and drive up the cost of reach. Owning a portfolio of highly trustworthy accounts, with verified identities and strict policy compliance, not only ensures stable advertising operations but is also a core element in optimizing conversion rates, transforming advertising accounts into strategic assets rather than just temporary tools.

Facebook advertising still exists, but the advertising costs are quite high.

The profits aren what they used to be, and many people are complaining about that. I feel the same way. The more developed things become, the more difficult it gets for users. Perhaps we need to learn more about advertising

Facebook Ads works better if scheduled for a longer duration, my last ad did great had over 100 messages, and I presume extending it now and then was the reason behind this success.

Yes is definitely harder now to create a profitable campaign , more competition as more companies invest in ads that have big budgets and will raise the prices of ads and you need to be more creative to get conversions

There is a specific mechanism behind harder for small marketers that keeps getting described as just costs and creative. Meta needs roughly 50 optimisation events per ad set per week to exit the learning phase, so your minimum viable weekly budget is cost per conversion multiplied by 50. At a $40 CPA that is $2,000 a week before the algorithm is working properly, and a $50 a day budget yields around nine conversions, which parks the ad set in Learning Limited permanently. That is why small accounts see erratic results that read as the platform getting worse, when structurally they never left learning in the first place. Two fixes that need no extra spend: consolidate down to one or two ad sets rather than spreading budget across many, and optimise for a higher volume event upstream such as add to cart so you actually clear 50, then move back down the funnel once volume supports it.

Success with Facebook Ads usually depends more on targeting the right audience and creating relevant ads than having a large budget Small marketers can still achieve good results when campaigns are tested carefully and the content matches what people are looking for

If you are a small marketer then at first, you have to scale your budget. After scaling your budget you have to put you ads into the correct place. It will help you a lot.
