If you were building something to last for the next 5–10 years, would you choose affiliate marketing, e-commerce, SaaS, SEO, content creation, freelancing, or something else? Why?

Hehe, very tough question considering how everything changes lately due to AI .... maaayybe e-commerce as people will always want to spend, but who knows

AI has made almost every online business more competitive, but it has also created new opportunities. I'd still lean toward e-commerce too, especially for brands that focus on unique products and strong customer experience rather than competing on price alone.

All of them can last long term and at the same time none of them may last long term.

Sustainability depends on a lot of factors, some may even not be in your control.

I’d pick SaaS or a service business tbh, because owning the customer relationship is a big advantage. Affiliate and content can still work, but relying only on platforms is risky long term.

For long term business, you have a better chance with affiliate marketing and SaaS. Once you can find a way to own your dedicated customers data, sustainability becomes easy.

They’re not the quickest wins, but they can compound over years and become something you actually own.

I think the best long-term online business model is one that combines a valuable skill with building your own audience or brand.
For beginners, freelancing or working as a virtual assistant is a great way to earn while learning. As your skills improve, you can expand into content creation, affiliate marketing, digital products, or even start your own agency.
In my opinion, businesses that focus on providing real value and building long-term assets have the most potential. They may take longer to grow, but they are usually more sustainable than chasing quick-money methods.
