I think Reels are still the best for reaching new people. but carousels are working better for saves and deeper engagement.
It feels like the greater trend here is Insta preference for content that provokies a reaction, rather than following a particular format. i have witnessed the succeess of very basic reels, that manage to grab viewer attention through the first few more seconds of the video rather than through editing and special effects.instagram's algorithm seems to be changing constantly , and what worked a few months ago may not be as effective today. some creators are seeing strong results wiht reels , while others claim that carousel posts and stories are driving better engagement.

Even today, the reels have proven the easiest way of getting discovered, but in my opinion, many people tends to emphasise more on the format than on the content perspective. A plain reel with a gud start and a gud enough reason to be shared would work better than those heavily edited ones. i have even noticed that some accounts grew faster with their reels and carousels.instagram's algorithm seems to be changing constantly , and what worked a few months ago may not be as effective today. some creators are seeing strong results wiht reels , while others claim that carousel posts and stories are driving better engagement.

The key point, however, is not just the format but the connection that the material builds with its audience. The Reels feature might ensure quicker visibility however, those posts which encourage saving, sharing and commenting will ensure much greater growth in the long term. It appears that simpler material grounded in reality, behind the scenes, and tips tends to work better than overly polished material designed solely with the algorithm in mind.instagram's algorithm seems to be changing constantly , and what worked a few months ago may not be as effective today. some creators are seeing strong results wiht reels , while others claim that carousel posts and stories are driving better engagement.

In my opinion, the Reels are currently beating on the front of discovery, yet it is not the format itself but rather the kind of content that is crucial here. In fact, short form videos with an interesting hook or helpful information appear to be doing better than viral content. The carousels are often underestimated since they can provide saves and shares, which are great signals for future success.instagram's algorithm seems to be changing constantly , and what worked a few months ago may not be as effective today. some creators are seeing strong results wiht reels , while others claim that carousel posts and stories are driving better engagement.
