How do you measure SEO success beyond keyword rankings?

Most SEO reports still focus heavily on rankings but I feel that doesn't always reflect the actual value of a campaign.. For those managing client websites or your ow projects what metrics do you consider most important when evaluating SEO performance over the long term?
rankings serve only as a marker of visibility. Generally speaking, I judge the effectivenes of SEO by the extent to which traffic positively impacts busines performance – quality traffic, conversion, earnings, nd more pages receiving consistent trafic.

I check things like organic clicks, impressions, engagement, and conversions. Rankings can change often, so I don't judge the whole campaign based on positions only.

I check which pages are improving, how much traffic they bring, and if users are taking action. Those numbers tell me more than just keyword positions.

I look at qualified organic traffic, leads, and conversions first. Rankings are useful context, but, you know, a position increase means little if the visitors bounce or never take action. I also watch non-branded clicks and how many pages contribute traffic over time.

For me, long term SEO effectiveness comes down to how well the site becomes capable of withstanding change. When there is an algorithmic update and the traffic drop is minor – or does not drop at all, but continues to increase , this means that everything is set in stone. also, having many pages driving traffic through search engines is much better than having the same traffic driven by only a few rankings.

Long term growth in clicks leads and ROI tells the real SEO story.

Rankings are just one metric. I pay more attention to organic traffic, conversions, and how many pages are bringing in clicks. If those keep growing, the SEO is doing its job.

I look at organic traffic, leads, and sales more than keyword rankings. If SEO is bringing the right visitors who take action, I consider it successful.

I check how many keywords are growing and whether new pages are getting visibility. For me, steady growth is more important than one time ranking changes.

Rankings are just one indicator. I focus more on organic conversions, qualified traffic, engagement, and revenue. If SEO is bringing the right visitors who actually take action, that's a much better measure of success than rankings alone.

Keyword rankings are useful, but they are only one part of the picture. I pay more attention to organic traffic, conversions, leads, and revenue. If a page moves up in rankings but does not bring qualified visitors or business results, I do not consider it a real success.

Rankings are useful, but I think they should only be one part of the picture. Over the long term, I pay more attention to organic traffic, conversions, and whether the traffic is actually relevant to the business.
If those metrics are improving consistently, that's a much stronger sign that the SEO strategy is working.
