When I first started learning how Facebook Ads work, I made a lot of mistakes and wasted quite a bit of budget. Looking back I realize that is pretty common and almost everyone burns through money early on.

Curious to hear from others

Launching ads without setting up pixels or conversion tracking

Frequently modifying ads, which easily triggers a re-review after each change

same here, wasted a ton testing every audience and creative without a clear hypothesis

Common mistakes include targeting too broadly or too narrowly, testing too many variables at once, scaling too quickly, ignoring tracking data, and focusing on ads instead of the offer. Most beginners lose money from poor testing rather than poor budgets.

Not testing enough creatives and pixel warm-up issues definitely cost me the most at the beginning. Scaling too fast without proper data is another huge trap.

One mistake I see a lot of beginners make is scaling too fast before they have enough data. my opinion is to be patient, test small, and focus on understanding what’s working before increasing the budget. It can save a lot of money and frustration in the long run.

Biggest mistake was not tracking properly. I was running ads without clear conversion tracking, so I had no idea what was actually working and just kept burning budget.

hi yes for me targeting was the biggest mistake and i was trying too many interests at once and spent money without getting good results there i learned to test small first and scale only what works.

My biggest mistake was focusing only on targeting and ignoring the creative. A good ad can make a huge difference.

Biggest mistake was targeting too broad without enough data. Wasted money before learning my audience properly.
