Hi everyone, In traditional SEO, we mainly focused on optimizing a website to rank well on search engines like Google. But with AI search, users may get answers from different systems such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Bing Copilot.
Each AI system may understand content differently and choose different websites to cite.

Is AI SEO becoming harder because we are optimizing for multiple AI systems instead of one search algorithm?

Not materially harder than if there was just 1: ultimately Google got gamed in the 90s by people doing keyword stuff/spam and AI is the same: yes maybe you would game it more easily at the beginning but ultimately the best practises that will be emerge will be like SEO - hard to apply, hard to measure, slow to see results.

its more complex to the extent that i dont even think i can invest my time on blogs anymore because its just discouraging

the future of AI SEO will surely be more complicated in the way that we r not optimizing for just one algorithm anymore. different AI tools can have different interpretations of content nd can evaluate it in a unique way. However the core concept of developping useful, correct nd trustworthy content will remain the same. sites will need to provide high quality nd authoritatiive content that can help solve users problems.

Let me clear with Ai first, claude it was operational and technical oriented i.e manual feeding and for chatgpt - openai this tier up with large site to powerup gpt engine. Gemini - this scrap 100 results in single query and when comes to perplexity combine of claude+chatgpt+Gemini.

When comes to Ai SEO it's tougher now since every system works differently. Best bet: focus on clear, quality content—works everywhere. Claude feels more consistent though.

i believe that AI SEO will revolutionize everything. previously, we concentrated on optimiziing website ranks. However now we should produce content that would be easily recognized, trusted nd referred by various AI. the downside of this process is that there r no specific formulas any more. the upside is that sites concentrating on expertise nd accuracy will stand out regardless of the speciffic algorithm.

Generic content is struggling, but unique, experience-driven content is becoming more valuable.,make it unique

Honestly, yes and no. It's harder in the sense that you can't reverse-engineer one algorithm anymore each AI system has different retrieval methods and citation preferences. But the underlying fundamentals that make content citable are converging, not diverging: clear structure, direct answers near the top, original data/insight, and strong topical authority tend to get pulled across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews alike. So instead of optimizing per-platform, I've shifted to optimizing for answer-ability.

I do think AI seo has become more challenge because we are optimizing for several AI platforms instead of just one search engine.Rather than trying to tailor content for each system,I focus on creating accurate, well organized and trustworthy content that has the best chance of being referenced across all of them.

yes it's getting more complex but the core hasn't changed if your content is high quality clear & authoritative it tends to perform well across all ai systems not just one

I think it is becoming more complex because we are no longer thinking only about Google. Many businesses now want visibility in AI assistants as well, so the challenge is creating content that is accurate, well structured, and genuinely useful across different platforms.

I agree it feels like the focus is shifting from optimizing for one search engine to creating content that multiple AI systems can understand and trust that makes quality and clarity even more important.

I think, AI SEO is shifting towards prioritizing information quality rather than one particular platform, clear structure, entity signals, topical authority, E-E-A-T, and schema can make the content perform better in google AI overviews, perplexity, and other AI systems, rather than trying to optimize for each individually.

Have you noticed any content formats/optimizations that consistently improve citations across different AI platforms, or do different platforms value different signals?

It is definitely more complex, but the core fundamentals remain similar. Instead of chasing different algorithms, the trick is focusing on structural data, entity relationships, and conversational language. If your content directly answers user intent with clear data, most of these AI engines will naturally pick it up. :)

hi yeah I think it is getting harder and every ai system works a little differently and the best way is to create clear helpful and trusted content instead of trying to optimize for only one platform.

I think it's becoming more complex, not necessarily harder. Before, most of us focused mainly on Google. Now there are several AI systems, and each one seems to surface information a little differently.
That said, the basics still matter. Clear content, good structure, and trustworthy information seem to help across all platforms, so I'd focus on those instead of trying to optimize for each AI tool separately.
