Is Reels the Only Way to Grow Now?

I see lot of people recommending carousels but i've never had any success with them, only find reels working lol. Maybe you guys do something different

naw. strongest post i had on a 400k page was a single photo. so posts still work

yep, that is the norm now. and yes, inconsistency lets you off the algorithm easily and that sucks if you're burnt out doing it everyday. so better choose a niche that you really love

Nah bro, Reels give fast reach but regular posts and carousels still work if you post consistent content and engage audience, long captions also help if content is good.

In my experience, Reels definitely get faster reach, but carousels still work well for engagement and saves if the content is valuable. Consistency still matters more than chasing every trend. Long captions can work too, especially when they tell a story or give useful info.

Reels are getting pushed a lot right now, so they usually bring faster reach. But carousels and normal posts still work if the content is actually useful and engaging.

Staying consistent & posting good content still matters more than just following every trend.

Lately I’ve noticed that normal posts don’t seem to get much reach unless the page already has strong authority. I might be wrong, but it feels like everything is pushed toward Reels now.
Is anyone here still growing pages using mostly carousels or regular posts?
Also curious — does consistency still matter more than chasing trends?
And what about longer captions/content… are they still working for anyone?
Would like to hear real experiences from people actively testing things right now.
Reels are an effective way to get discovered across multiple platforms thanks to their memorable format. While formats like carousels and regular posts are still effective for reinforcing account signals, they don't generate the same level of engagement as Reels.

Yes reels are the ones that get pushed more into the feeds of your audience so creating good reels and getting them go viral is the best way to get more reach.

Reels tend to reach a wider audience right now, but carousels and regular posts can still perform well, especially with an engaged following. Staying consistent is often more important than chasing trends, and well-written, longer captions can still add value and drive engagement.

I still get growth with carousels but slower. Reels push helps a lot .

most profiles fail to post reels first which many does to expose profile on selected location reel viewers for growth, including hashtags on trend reel upload alert chances to rank reel on some pages.

From what I've seen, consistency with good quality content, even carousels or longer captions, still matters a ton, but mixing in reels seems to be the most effective strategy for growth lately

yes, i feel the same and i think reels help with reach but regular posts can still work if the content is useful and meaningful and the consistency is still important and good content matters more than just following trends.

No, carousels are also a very good way to reach a large audience.

A useful normal post can still work if people like the content and interact with it. Sometimes a good carousel gets more saves than a Reel.

If you want to gain followers then post reels. I have a reel with over 2 million views which still gets me followers even though it is a old post. Nowadays, carousel posts are good for more interactivity

Definitely, the use of reels has been one of most effective tools for discovery but in my opinion, the biggest mistake is using the reel for the entire strategy. Many reels receive traffic but can not retain them due to the fact that the other parts of their profile do not offer something interesting. growth has been seen when reels were used for attraction and others for building trust.
