For me AI is the Myth now, people are loosing their creativity and skills, things becoming harder to get real content online, Now people are doing less SEO, becuase its hard to find genuine relevant backlinks these are now mostly paid..

Longer content always ranks better.
Reality: The page that satisfies search intent often wins, even if it's much shorter.

AI myth: AI content ranks automatically
Fact: Search Engine don't care about who written then content, but if the AI produce generic content and published directly it's going to be hurt your ranking, it's always recommended to edit before publishing it directly.

I agree
Myth: High DR websites always pass value.
Fact: A relevant website with real users and traffic is generally going to rank better than a higher DR site, which may sell lots of links and has nothing to do with the keywords for which it's ranking.

Myth: Getting the #1 spot always drives the most traffic.
Fact: When AI Overviews (and other SERP features) take up the top space, the #1 spot may end up with relatively few clicks.

Myth: Google wants you to publish frequently.
Fact: Google rewards you for creating authoritative, relevant, and trustworthy content that’s useful to people, not simply publishing content regularly.
You give the important information here, most of the people still working according to the old myths.

Myth: AI content gets penalized automatically.
Reality: Thin unhelpful content gets penalized. The search engine doesn't care who wrote it

Myth: link velocity matters more than link relevance
Reality: One contextual link from niche relevant site can still outperform than 50+ off topic links.

Myth: fixing core web vitals will move rankings
Reality: It helps, but you have work on content and entity signals as well to improve ranking.

What are all the other myths that still being repeated in 2026?
Other myths: keyword density still drives rankings, social signals directly boost rankings, and longer content always wins. Reality: intent, entity relevance, and topical authority matter more. Tools like Semrush help analyze competitors, backlinks, and intent gaps for smarter SEO decisions in 2026.

One myth I still see is that exact context match keywords need to be repeated everywhere to rank better. Today Google understands context and intent much better than before so forcing the same keyword into every healing and paragraph usually makes the content worse instead of better. Writing naturally and covering the topic completely is far more effective than keyword stuffing

Yep, everyone prefer to get result with AI overviews. but the biggest myth here is SEO doesn't work anymore.

I agree with you partially

I have seen many people still think Domain Authority is a Google ranking factor. I think it is just not . DA is just a third party metric and Google does not use it directly.

The myth that continues to persists is that SEO relies on finding a hidden secret for ranking that no one else has discovered. Truth be told, most successfull long term strategies are founded on incremental improevements in various areas such as content quality, user experience, website organisation and search intent. These are often mundane aspects, yet they make all the difference in surviving updates.

One I clung to way too long was that posting frequency was its own ranking signal, like Google gave you points just for publishing daily. It never was. The cadence only ever mattered because it usually meant you were covering more ground. A handful of genuinely useful pages beat a daily churn of thin ones every time. Same energy as the DA/DR point above too - I used to think a big count of indexed pages was a strength, but a pile of low value URLs mostly just spreads your crawl budget thin instead of helping.

I think one common is that older domains always have an advantage. I seen new sites outrank old ones when they have better content and a stronger SEO setup.

Old domains still has an advantage on it. But if you work on new sites they can outrank old one for sure with better content like you said here.

other myth that continues to persists is the belief that a drop in rankings is always as a result of a google penalty on the website. There could be various other reasons why the drop in rankings occurs these include competitors improving their pages, changes in user search intent, and the algorithm valuing new metrics. One should not immediately assume that there has been a google penalty or start employing shortcuts, but instead focus on analysing the info to determine what changed and optimises it.
