Traditional SEO is no longer just about ranking on Google.

Today, brands need visibility across AI search engines, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, forums, news sites and social platforms where users are actively searching for answers.

Strong brand mentions, entity authority and multi-platform presence are becoming just as important as backlinks and keywords.

Do you think "Search Everywhere Optimization" is the future of SEO or will Google rankings always remain the primary focus?

What strategies are delivering the best results for you in 2026?

Honestly I think this is just where SEO is heading. Google's still huge for traffic, sure, but these days people are searching everywhere, AI tools, Reddit, YouTube, social media, you name it. And what I've noticed is that building a real brand and staying visible across all these different channels ends up paying off way more in the long run than just chasing Google rankings. :)

I like the fact that SEO will still be SEO. Other than that you may need it for paid client who wants more visibility. Good old Google seo still works. I don't need to anything out of ordinary.

I think Google rankings will still matter, but search behavior is expanding. A strong strategy now is building authority everywhere quality content, brand mentions, community engagement, video, and trusted links. The brands that win will likely be the ones users can find across multiple platforms, not just one search engine.

No matter what year it is, no matter what update comes along the main rule has always been the same: your project has to be user-friendly for your target audience. So no matter how you look at it, yeah, there's more work now, but the strategy stays the same quality in everything

Well said, bro, really. SEO will always work

One thing I've noticed is that referral traffic is becoming more valuable again. Visitors coming from Communities, newsletters, or niche platforms often stay longer and convert better than random search traffic. That makes me think Success will be measured by audience quality, not just search visibility.

Earlier, it was fine to create a website and invite the world to see it. Now, you need to walk from street to street knocking the doors of social media platforms, AI tools, and media to notice you.

You can name it whatever you want but the traffic is diversifying and Google is no longer the go-to tool for promoting your business. Everyone has ten options to pick from and Google is dwindling between a search engine and a content source. They are still ruling but may not retain their monopoly for long.

been seeing this show up in client analytics tbh, chatgpt/perplexity referral traffic went from basically 0 to a real line item on ga4 for a few clients this yr. still tiny % compared to google but its growing every month. also had 2 clients where a reddit thread ranked above their own site for branded searches, thats when it clicked this isnt just theory anymore. still optimizing for google first tho since thats wer the volume is, just also making sure the brand shows up clean if someone checks it on reddit or asks an ai
