Is IP-based cloaking still working fine?

Been out of the cloaking game for a while and trying to figure out what still works. Used to be you could serve the crawler one version and real visitors another off a decent IP list and it would stick for months. Now I'm hearing pages get deindexed fast.
For anyone still running it:
  • Is user-agent + reverse-DNS checking enough anymore, or do you need a live-maintained Googlebot IP range to not leak the wrong version?
  • Are the rendering/JS crawls the thing that actually burns setups now, or is it pattern detection on the serving side?
  • Does rotating the cloak per-visitor buy you anything, or just add moving parts?

They only deindex for a few days if its been months << this is years ago,now they have it like an almost real time : ( ..... What has worked the best in your experience lately - same old boring ua strings or fancy ? ....

cloaking has become much harder to maintain as search engines use more signals than just IP or user agent checks. i would focus on sustainable seo methods because short term tactics often become risky over time.
ehh sustainable seo yes....but BORING AF ;D I love to do things "dirtier" lolThough u r not wrong......if the cloacking gets TOO obvious...Are U tracking what kind of Google senitive signals are tracked by other SEO Gurus as of today?

Modern search engines are much better at detecting cloaking, so relying on techniques to serve different content to crawlers versus users is increasingly likely to result in deindexing or penalties.
If your goal is long-term rankings, it's much safer to serve the same content to both users and search engines and focus on improving page quality and performance instead.

you need more than that to bypass those systems.

User agents are still important to identy yes, but you can to make your cloaker updated on a daily basis
