Been out of the cloaking game for a while and trying to figure out what still works. Used to be you could serve the crawler one version and real visitors another off a decent IP list and it would stick for months. Now I'm hearing pages get deindexed fast.

- Is user-agent + reverse-DNS checking enough anymore, or do you need a live-maintained Googlebot IP range to not leak the wrong version?
- Are the rendering/JS crawls the thing that actually burns setups now, or is it pattern detection on the serving side?
- Does rotating the cloak per-visitor buy you anything, or just add moving parts?
