Is Blogging Still a Good Business Model in 2026?

Blogs still work well when paired with strong content and consistent promotion
By the way, does google say you need pillar pages like Hubspot to get organic seo ranking ?

Hi everyone,

I have been learning more about blogging recently, and I am curious about how people view it in 2026. With AI content, social media, YouTube, and short-form videos becoming more popular, I'm wondering whether blogging is still a worthwhile long-term strategy.

Are blogs still bringing consistent traffic and income for you, or have you shifted your focus to other platforms? I would like to hear what's actually working for people right now and how blogging fits into your overall marketing strategy.
blogging remains one of the few mediums that u get to own. the algorithm for social media can be changed within days, however, a well maintaiined blog will continue to generate more value day after day. in fact i m using blogging as my core medium while the other platforms r merely used to bring people to the blog itselff.

I think blogging still works, but it's no longer enough to just publish articles. Helpful content, topical authority, and combining it with email, social media, or YouTube seems to be the approach that's working now.

Build topical authority itself has not to do with having pillar pages and add spoke articles

They still are, but I think it will be even more so in the future, and blogs will make a comeback. AI will cause many websites to disappear, especially large websites and that relied exclusively on their Google ranking but are irrelevant to AI because they tend to publish content copied from others, recycled material, and clickbait. Blogs, on the other hand, are usually run by people who are passionate about certain topics and know what they're talking about. I believe that in the long run, they will regain significant relevance, especially with the website purge we'll see in the coming months/years.

In 2026 blogging is reach is limited bcz of social media paltforms . and thing is what is your niche? basically it depend on niche.

AI has made basic content easier to create, so real experience and useful information can help a blog stand out.

Blogging still works well if you write about unique personal experiences that AI cannot easily copy. Successful bloggers now combine written guides with video or social posts to reach readers in multiple places.

Though after GEO has started taking high place and Google Overview is up here.... Blogs do not now feel as to attract that much traffic as before since Google Overview easily makes the person know about what he is searching by crawling various high potential sites.....
Yes blogging is worthwhile but only if you keep AIO AEO and especially GEO in view or such keywords which are uneasy for GEO to crawl and provide in AI Overview......
That's actually where, I think, "blogging fits into your overall marketing strategy."

I have seen mix point of views here. But i think blogging is no more in 2026 bcz of social media reels etc...

I think blogging can still work, but the approach has changed i would be interested to know what niches and traffic sources are still performing well for bloggers in 2026

It is very rewarding if people really search after what you are writing.

Blogging is still worth it, but the approach has changed.
The sites doing well focus on high-quality, helpful content and often combine blogging with SEO, email marketing, and social media. AI can speed up content creation, but original insights and consistency are still what drive long-term traffic and income.

blogging remains a useful tool but its relevance is defined by its quality nd reliability. a blog post which brings new insighhts into things solves certaiin issues and forms relations with the audience can bring traffic nd earn money. the main difference is in the fact that bloggers should think not only about their place on googles rating page.
