Groups are by far the most effective method to drive traffic to your websites/blogs but you've gotta provide real value for your target audience in order for them to go to your website.

You can still get great traffic if you strictly avoid putting external links in your posts, just focus on Reels for algorithmic reach and post high value content in groups to funnel them into messenger for the links.

i have seen that facebook has become a community based platform than the broadcastting one. while page reach may have been affected group interactions can actually bring good outcomes as long as u promote within the right context. It is all about bringing value nd promoting in conttext to the discussions held.
 
I noticed videos and personal posts get more reach than normal link posts. That helped me get better traffic.
 
Facebook is a good choice for free traffic, I have personal experience too but You have a good group and have a good friend list then. Not for new users but yes of course for old users who build a good reputation there.
 
If you can make reels that are engaging and redirect peoples to your offer is worth it but just spam posting is not effective anymore as alghorythm can spot those and shadowban them
 
We have now instagram which is way better than facebook for free traffic.
