SEO has many areas to work on but not every task gives the same results. If you only had one hour per day to improve a website then where would you spend that time?
Content updates, technical fixes, internal links, outreach or something else?

I recommend updating the website's content. Adding new content regularly is important to keep the website fresh, relevant, and engaging for visitors.

Spend most of my time updating old content and improving internal links. It usually gives faster ranking improvements than creating new articles or spending hours on technical changes.

I'd spend that hour updating existing content and improving internal links. Small improvements to pages that already have impressions often deliver faster results than constantly creating new content.

Internal linking is my first priority.

I always focus on updating existing content that is already sitting on page 2 or 3. It takes way less time than writing new articles or building backlinks, and you can see ranking bumps as soon as the google reindexes your article.

for an hour, i would be searching for the pages which have impressionns but have lost visibility owing to one glaring flaw. It is not necessary for the prblm to be the absence of the complete content, just only one section missing or being on the wrong angle on SERP or answering the query late could be sufficient.

If i had just one hour a day i would use it to improve the pages that already get traffic. updating existing content, adding internal links nd impproving the usefulness of a page often gives better results than chasing after new content each day. Small improvements, if consistentlly applied can add up over time.

But is the update of old pages good in terms of SEO for google? I had the idea that if you update the content of an old indexed blog article google will not like this.

I think technical fixes should come first if the website has major issues. After that, content and internal links can help more.

Updating content that's already on page 2 or 3 is usually the quickest win.. It's less effort than writing new stuff and you can see results fast. :-)

Those two tasks have given me the best return for the time invested, especially on websites that already have some content and traffic.

That is where I would put my efforts for the next hour on articles that already have traffic and need just that tiny push to reach their full potential.
sometimes the solution is not about rewriting the whole thing but rather adding a particular part or addressinng the mismatch between the article and the search intent.
Those minor tweiaks will take you much farther than writing an entirely new piece.

in case i had just an hour for myself i would analyze everything that is working right now. i would find pages that are getting impresions but no clicks make changes to their titles, descriptions, update content, add some internal links. this is much more effective compared to always creatiing something new.

I think internal linking is one of the most underrated tasks. A solid link structure helps search engines understand the site better and often gives older pages a second life without creating anything new.
