Will Future SEO Be Won by Brands, Not Websites?

I think we're already moving in that direction.

Backlinks will always matter but brand mentions, entity recognition and overall trust signals are becoming much stronger as AI-powered search evolves.

The sites that combine great content with a recognizable brand are likely to have the biggest advantage going forward.

I see brand mentions as an important trust signal, especially as search evolves with AI. However, I don't think they'll completely replace backlinks anytime soon. A recognizable brand can improve visibility and user trust, but links still provide valuable context about authority. The sites that consistently invest in content quality, technical SEO, and brand reputation are likely to have the strongest long-term results.

Both are very important factor for your company growth. Backlinks will boost your site ranking and brand give fame and name in the market so people will know you by the name of that brand.

I have seen many weaker link profiles' website get mentioned in ai overviews just because that particular brand name was mentioned in a good reddit that. So yes, brand mentions are already winning.

The brand-versus-website debate feels like a false dichotomy to me. Brand mentions are essentially becoming the new unlinked backlinks, but a direct link will always carry more weight as an explicit vote of confidence.
yeah,i think we are confusing Brands and Websites
