I'm working on SEO for a B2B SaaS website and trying to build high-quality backlinks without relying on spammy tactics or buying links.

There are so many strategies out there, including digital PR, guest posting, HARO alternatives, free tools, data studies, partnerships, resource pages, and linkable assets.

If you've successfully grown a SaaS site's authority, what has delivered the best ROI for you?

the method that has proven effective in my experience for promoting SaaS is the creation of link magnets like tool, research papers or comprehensive informtion. this proces should be undertaken along with link building activitie nd not just any backlink acquisition.

From my experience, the highest ROI comes from linkable assets , free tools , original data and templates all together, with niche-relevant guest posts, and digital PR too. I tend to focus on topical relevance and editorial links over DR or raw link volume , most people miss that. A handful of high quality contextual links will consistently outperform hundreds of average backlinks, almost every time.

In my experience free tools and original research work best. They earn backlinks naturally and keep bringing links over time.

For a B2B SaaS site, I'd focus more on relevance than just authority. A few mentions from websites your target audience actually follows can be more valuable than getting featured on random high-metric sites. I'd also spend time creating useful content because it makes outreach easier and gives others a good reason to mention or share your work.

For B2B SaaS, I think original data and research can work really well. If the information is genuinely useful, other websites have a reason to reference it.

Brand mentions and guest posting are the best options to improve your brand visibility but you need to focus on one part too. You'll get the desired result with a combined approach.

in my experince free tools and original research helps me better because it tend to attract backlinks naturally

I'd emphasize on high-quality links instead of pursuing random links.

For B2B Saas, I've seen the best ROI from niche relevant guest posts, digital PR, and genuinely useful linable assets.

you need backlinks in articles on news websites, they are the best in terms of:
1. good indexation percentange
2. brings free traffic
3. have strong authority

My most succesful competitors in SaaS have 10-15 high quality articles on news portals, even on yahoo news lol...
I am building that strategy too.

Quality link > hundred of average ones.

list your website in tool directories, partner integration websites.

For r tool directories, list on sites like g2, capterra, product hunt, and alternativeTo + if you build integrations, get listed on partner marketplaces like zapier, slack app directory, or shopify app store since those links are high authority.
