Do fresh pins matter more than follower count now?

yeah @RotatingProxy has a good point about keeping the niche tight. if you go too broad early on the algorithm gets confused. followers are pretty much a vanity metric now anyway since the home feed is mostly interest based.

for a new account what actually moves the needle is making sure the visual lens can read your pin. put clear, high-contrast text on the image itself and match those keywords with your board title. and don't burn yourself out making dozens of unique designs a day... you can just swap the background image or tweak the headline text for the same URL and pinterest will still treat it as a fresh pin.
 
Start with one niche and keep posting quality content. A focused account usually grows better than posting random topics.
 
Posting fresh and useful pins regularly helps more than just having a high follower count. If people engage with your pins then you can get good reach with new account also.

For new accounts, forget about follower count, the only thing that drives massive traffic is consistently posting highly SEO-optimized Fresh Pins to feed Pinterest's search engine.
 
Followers are basically a vanity metric on Pinterest at this point — it's a search/discovery engine not a social feed, so fresh pins w/ solid SEO'd titles/descriptions linkin to actual valuable content is what's drivin traffic on new accts, nobody's servin u impressions just cuz u got 500 followers sittin there doin fk-all

I believe the most signifficant change that took place is my treatment of Pinterest as a search engine rather than a social network. Rather than stresing on increasing the number of folowers or creating pins i started to make sure that the titles of pins nd pictures matched up with whatever people were searching for.
 
I think fresh pins matter more for new accounts Consistency, keyword optimization, and quality visuals have made a bigger difference for me than follower count Followers seem to come as a result of good content rather than the other way around
 
Consistency and fresh creative are king rn. Droppin 3 to 5 brand new pin designs daily for your links will push way more traffic than trying to grow a subscriber list.
 
Sometimes you got nothing with followers but get good reach on fresh pins . so balance everything
 
Pinterest traffic usually takes time. I think staying consistent for a few months is more useful than expecting results from a new account immediately.
 
I think both factors are important. To grow quickly, you need to build a strong follower base while consistently publishing new content.
