How long does a new page take to get traffic?

In my experience, it usually takes a few weeks before a new page starts getting consistent organic traffic, although it depends a lot on the competition and the site's authority.

usually i see first impressions/indexing within days, but real organic clicks often take 2–8 weeks

IT is hard to predict without further analysis like keyword SV, KD, competitors position, backlinks, content quality etc.

I usually give a new page at least 1to 3 months before judging its performance. some pages start getting traffic quickly, while others take much longer time.

During the initial weeks, i am more concerned with impressions than clicks. as long as the impressions continue to increase, google has begin to test the page. In case there is zero impressionn for many weeks, then it can be concluded that the page needs improvement in internal linking or relevancce to search intent.

Yeah, that’s pretty normal from what I’ve seen. A page can get indexed within a few days, but actual clicks can take weeks or even a couple of months to start coming in.
A lot depends on the competition, the age/authority of the site, and how well the page matches the search intent. I usually pay more attention to whether impressions are gradually increasing in Search Console rather than expecting traffic straight away.

@rogueperry is right about watching impressions first. google definitely does that sandbox testing thing where they give you a tiny temporary boost to see how users react. but if you just sit and wait for 3 months like some are saying, you lose too much time...
i usually force internal links from high traffic pages to the new post on day one. it speeds up the crawl depth and usually cuts that testing phase down to like 10 days instead of months. if it still has zero impressions after two weeks, the query is either dead or your page setup is off.

It varies a lot depending on the site, but I usually wouldn't worry too much if a new page gets indexed and has almost no clicks at first. I've had pages sit quietly for a couple of months before Google started sending meaningful traffic, while others picked up impressions much faster. I tend to watch impressions and query positions first, then improve the page if it's getting visibility but not moving — curious what timeframe others are seeing with newer sites in 2026?
