Hello guys,
I just started learn blogging. So, i want to know what are the mistakes i should avoid. Please share some real experiences that help me to learn.

So, i want to know what are the mistakes i should avoid.
1... don't put all of your resources (time, money, mental energy, hopes) into your 1st project! It will most likely fail at some point, so you might need to start over. Treat your 1st website like a fun project that - if it pans out - you will consider as a side, and still limited project that can still fail at some point. And if it doesn't pan out, write it off from your life (both mentally and physically) and think of it as a learning experience, then move onto the next project if you're not yet butthurt about the first (of your many to come) SEO fails.

2... don't assume that SEO is a once-off process! Most newbies think that publishing a few articles and getting some free backlinks will make them rank and bank. SEO is an ongoing process because google wants you to waste your time and energy so they can keep being rich and powerful, so you either have to embrace your slavery, or stop doing SEO altogether, there's no in-between for this. So, embrace the grind and long-term goals, or else SEO is not for you.

3... in case that you do wish to embrace SEO, don't postpone launching your first website until things are "perfect". In SEO, there is no such thing as perfection, the sooner you start (even if you don't fully know / understand what you're doing), the quicker you'll either fail, succeed, or learn what works at that time.

4... many / most informational keywords are being covered by google's AI with the content that they steal from you and from other people who create that content. So - if possible - target only commercial or personal-experience-based keywords so that the AI has nothing to steal on those keywords.

5... just like with SEO, blogging is also an ongoing process. If you can't blog at least once a week for several years straight don't even think about getting into blogging, it will end up eating up all of your time, money, and energy!

6... SEO is not just about backlinks anymore. If you wish to succeed (especially as a newbie, and especially in tough niches) you need to nail down a lot of the core components of SEO, such as:

- niche + keyword research
- site planning + structuring
- technical SEO + site optimization (mobile friendliness, site speed, easy crawlability, indexability, and navigation)
- content optimization + internal linking
- offsite SEO (backlinks + site promotion + social signals)

7... with regards to backlinks, anchor texts are still important, in the sense that you still want to keep your exact match anchors under 5% for the most part (some niches / industries might require higher ratios of exact match anchors, but most of them don't need such aggressive anchors, so aim for 1-3% exact match anchors for each page)

8... while getting traffic on informational keywords might prove to be difficult with the infestation by the AI, you will still want to point most of your backlinks to your informational pages instead of the commercial ones. The official reason for this being that people rarely link back to product / service pages, they usually tend to link back to guides, tutorials, info pages in general.

Boss you have said it all, this is just the best approach

Been there, done that with overthinking my first site and waiting for that ‘perfect’ launch, only to realize Google doesn’t care if your logo is pixel perfect. If you’re picking keywords, Google Trends from 2023 onward really gives a better picture these days, and a quick batch of easy-win backlinks to info content sometimes gets pages indexed faster. Using natural anchor text like normal sentences looks a lot less sketchy to search engines.

Hello guys,

Spend more time on keyword research before writing, great article won't get much traffic if nobody is searching for it.

Don't keep changing your niche every few weeks, give it some time before judging the results.

The first error that I committed when using the blog is nt having a linking strategy before publishing the content. Sometime, my blog seemed disconnected and did not capture the attention of my reader. while creating the next blog, consider the topic cluster.

Avoid choosing very competitive topics in the beginning. Start with smaller keywords where you have a better chance to rank.

Number 5 hits hard for me, blogging consistancy is what most people underestimate. I would add dont skip internal linking early on, it helps alot once you have more content up.

The critical insight gained from the course is that bloging does not involve just writing but also the proce as a whole. In this regard, keyword resarch and consistency are more important than creating a perfect website immediately.

Hi @Frost Vector
One mistake you should avoid is chasing keywords instead of writing content that genuinely helps readers. Focus on solving problems first.

One mistake i made was publishing articles without doing proper keyword research. I spent a lot of time writing content that nobody was searching for. I would recommend understanding search intent first then creating content around keywords you actually have a chance to rank for.

Do you advise to create 2 or more blogs at the same time, or finish the first and then going to the second etc?

Most people does not give enough importance to the learning process in their first blog. You should consider your first website as an experiment to find out how to communiicate with your audience and how SEO works. This will be much more Beneficial for you than any ranking on the very 1st try.

A common mistake is ignoring SEO basics like titles, headings, internal links, and updating old posts. These small things can make a big difference.

Another addition to the list I would like to make is that you should not forget about your analytics once you publish something. newbies just continue writing fresh content without ever checking what is being read, clicked, or at wht point the user stops reading the article.

One thing that i have learned is to never disregard older material. Beginners tend to concenttrate on writiing fresh posts. however, there r many times when updating ur old articles could prove to be just as beneficial. Furthermore, u should always keep ur readers in mind instead of google.

One common mistake beginners make is focusing too much on publishing many articles and not enough on understanding their audience.
I would suggest choosing a clear niche, doing proper keyword research, improving old content and being consistent. Also do not expect instant results because blogs usually need time to grow.
