short videos make an amazing way to get discovered, although there are differennces in the quality of the audience you get. I have had much better success using them as a tool to experiment with topics and attract audiences into long videos.

Shorts help to grow the channel if the content is interesting but you have to post consistently. Once you get good views to your shorts then you can add the link of the long video in the description of the shorts because long videos helps more then the shorts to grow.
