What do you usually do to give your blog articles a bit of extra support and strengthen their rankings? I don't want to buy expensive backlinks for them. They're already near the bottom of the first page, the content is strong, and they already receive internal links. They just need a little extra boost, but they're not valuable enough to justify costly backlinks.

Try reaching out to sites directly for guest posts—it’ll be much cheaper than marketplaces.

if they're already near page 1, i'd focus on improving what's already there instead of buying more links. refresh the content, add missing sections, improve the title and ctr, and strengthen internal links from your best pages. even small updates can make a difference. you can also pick up a few easy, relevant mentions or citations instead of expensive backlinks.

I usually start with small, affordable improvements instead of investing in expensive backlinks. Updating the article with fresh information, adding a few relevant niche links, strengthening internal links from stronger pages, and improving the title and meta description to increase click through rates can often provide the extra push needed for pages that are already close to the top of the search results.
If the content is already close to being on the first page i would suggest u improve the existing material. The article may be updated with more current info the internal linkks from related pages optimized nd the title or heading improved nd sometimes that makes all the difference.

If a page is already close to page one then i usually refresh the content, improve the title and meta description and add a few more relevant internal links from stronger pages. Sometimes even small updates and better click through rates are enough to push those pages a little higher.
If the page is already on page one, then it’s often best for me to look at those pages above it and find out what they are talking about that my page is not . Sometimes all it takes is to make some minor additions to the conteint or answer an overlooked question to get some more relevancy.

Focus on gaps in your SEO that are absolutely free like site structure, sitemap, internal links, author profile, citations to credible sources, core web vitals, etc. so that you can give that little push. In most cases, sites are not perfect and we can easily find such opportunities instead of struggling to build quality backlinks. When your site starts generating revenue, you can get backlinks to further strengthen the authority and trust signals.

I first compare the backlink profiles of the URLs ranking above me. If they are only slightly stronger i wouldd test a few relevant links before spending more. If the gap is huge, I probably invest my time in a different article instead.

One easy way is to add FAQ at the last of the articles.

I don't think you can replace the power of link building why not to build some backlinks manully back to it. You can do it almost free by using web2.0 properties and content with AI ?
I do myself similar but on large scale with mix of link building tools. You you need is few tiers to pass the link juice

The first thing I check is how the above pages are different from my page and then I focus on the content. I update my content with fresh information and real examples and also make sure that it fully answers the user search intent after updation. Small improvements like this can helps more than building backlinks.

When the page already lies close to page one, then I pay attention to what takes place after the click instead of before the click. The addiition of a comparison table, screennshots, or just a brief introduction on the top of the page has got some pages ranking higher for me without having created any backlinks.

one thing nobody mentioned yet... check the actual search intent for those keywords again. sometimes a page sits at the bottom of page 1 cause it doesnt fully match what the top results are giving. look at whats ranking above you and see what format they use, faq, tables, videos whatever, then match or beat it.
also internal links are good but where you point them from matters. move a link to that article higher up on your strongest page, above the fold if you can, not buried in a footer. passes way more juice.

If the page is already near the top it is best to give it some time nd monitor it. Sometimes all that is needed is more time for google to reassess the newly updated page. I have seen insstances where google moves the page up a little even if there r no additional backlinks created.
When the page is near achieving its ranking position, I will generally try not to overdo on the Backlinks, but instead find areas where there are slight deficieincies. Through a comparison of the top results, fixing out-of-date information, filling in gaps and enhancing click through rate , the page can achieve its goal.
