What's the first technical SEO error you check on the new site?

I usually start with the crawl errors, broken links, proper indexing, XML sitemap, robots.txt, page speed, and mobile usability. These are some techical SEO factor on which I have focused more.

Hi,
I am working on new website and need to know what are the important technical error should be optimized.
So, i want to listen from you that what kind of technical errors you check on your website? Waiting for your replies.
Preventing any form of crawling leakage should be first on your list, as such issues are merely symptom rather than causes. The causes of the problem could include errors such as 404s and redirects, which affect googlebots ability to reach a certain page. Link equity needs to flow effortlessly throughout the website as well, and core page must be reachable in no more than three clicks from the homepage.

I check for broken links and the sitemap so I can make sure my websites are crawled.

First thing I check is indexing and crawlability.
If Google can’t properly crawl the site nothing else really matters.

The first thing I check is whether the site can be crawled and indexed properly. Issues like blocked pages in robots.txt, noindex tags, broken internal links and sitemap errors can prevent pages from ranking no matter how good the content is

The first thing I check is how the site appears in Google's index - with "www" or without "www".
The reason is that sometimes Google indexes a page with "www" when the site doesn't use "www", or with "http" when the site doesn't use "http".
To check this, run the query - site:websitename.com in Google using a private browser window.

everyone covered the basics like canonicals and robots.txt but one thing i always check on new setups is server response codes for dead pages. make sure your site actually returns a real 404 and not a soft 404 where it shows a "not found" page but still returns a 200 status... google hates those. also if you are on cheaper hosting, block the useless crawlers like semrush and other seo bots in your robots file. no point letting them eat your server resources when you need googlebot to get a fast response time.

first thing you must check on a brand new site is the indexation status and crawl blocks because if the search engines cannot access or read your pages correctly none of your other on page optimization or link building efforts will matter at all

the first thing I would check on a new site is whether search engine can actually access and index web pages.

First things to check are crawl errors, broken links, page speed, mobile usability, these typ eof basic errors. Fixing those has usually given me the biggest improvements.

Page speed, cannibalization for different pages, broken links

First thing I check is crawl index issues robots.
txt noindex tags and sitemap setup.
If that’s wrong, nothing else matters.

I usually check page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, indexing, broken links, redirects, sitemap, robots.txt, HTTPS, and schema. These are the key technical SEO checks.

The first thing I check is whether important pages can actually be crawled and indexed.

I always start with indexing. If Google can't crawl or index the site, nothing else matters.

I usually start with crawl errors, broken links (404), redirect chains, duplicate content, missing meta tags, XML sitemap and mobile usability. Fixing these early makes future SEO much easier.

The first thing i check is whether the important pages are actually being indexed. Then i review the robits.txt file, XML sitemap and make sure there are not any accidental noindex tags. I have seen new websites lose weeks of potential traffic just because of a simple indexing issue.
