Hey BHW,

I owned a YouTube channel sitting at 270 subscribers, but no videos had been uploaded yet. I created this YT channel in mid-2025; around 1 year has passed. What's an effective way to upload and actually grow this channel in 2026? How do you guys grow from here? Best upload schedule, SEO ticks, or whatever actually moved the needle for you?

Share your actual experience if you've scaled a YouTube channel from nothing.

In my opinion, you need to focus on producing quality content, optimizing for search engines, and building a loyal audience.

I think you should start by posting 3 long videos per week. Focus on building 10-15 foundational videos.

Treat the 270 subs like a cold channel. Pick one niche, make 10 videos around the same viewer/problem, and judge the first batch by retention and comments, not subs. Random uploads will waste the age of the channel.

I would treat it like a brand new channel Pick one niche upload consistently and focus on making every video better than the last one In my experience retention and click through rate matter much more than subscriber count at the beginning

I would spend some time studying channels in the same niche before uploading..
Understanding what already works can help you avoid guessing and create videos with a clearer direction.
Yeah, good point. That's a solid one. Any specific tools do you recommend for analyzing YT channels? Like Vidiq, Tubebuddy, or something else?

This is not good growth in one year. May be you are meant for some other work. Try other options like video editing job for someone.
