Anyone else getting blasted by these automated spam backlinks on Day 1?

I’m seriously losing my mind here and need to vent/ask if anyone else is dealing with this exact same garbage.

Every single one of my domains, even brand new ones from Day 1 is getting absolutely hammered by these auto-generated, automated link-building spam bots. I’m tracking them in Ahrefs and Google Search Console, and it’s just a never-ending flood.

They all look like variations of:

• seoboost (.) shop
• ranktools(.)shop
• link-building-crawl-...
• Shady anchor texts mixed with budget crawl stores.

I have been constantly updating my disavow file in Search Console, but it’s completely useless because the second I disavow a batch, they spin up 50 new domains and keep making them! It feels like trying to empty the ocean with a spoon.

Honestly, I’m starting to think this is a scam by shady "freelancers" or extortionists. They blast your site with toxic links, hoping you’ll freak out, find their contact info, and pay them money to make it stop.

My questions to the community:

1. Is anyone else seeing these exact same .shop and crawl-bot domains hitting their sites?
2. Google says we don't need to worry about algorithmic penalties for random spam because they "ignore" it, but can we actually trust that on a brand new domain?
3. Is there ANY practical way to block these bots from hitting the site or creating these links in the first place? Cloudflare rules? Server-side blocking?

Let me know if your Search Console is also looking like a dumpster fire right now. I’m exhausted.

This is happening to almost all new domains. If you rank for any queries, the competitors start believing that you bought backlinks from them and do the same. It's a huge scam and there is not much we can do.

Yeah, this has become pretty common with brand new domains — it's usually automated negative SEO or just bots crawling anything with a pulse. Worth keeping an eye on Search Console, but for junk links like that, a disavow is rarely necessary unless you actually see a ranking hit. Most of it gets ignored by Google's algorithm anyway.

google actually ignore most of these .shop spam domains automatically now, I stopped mass disavowing years ago and seen no difference in rankings. Disavow is really only worth using if you have manual action or very targeted negative SEO campaign, not random bot spam like this.
for blocking, Cloudflare firewall rules work decent for known spam bot user agents but these bots rotate fast enough that its never ending battle. Better approach is just checking Ahrefs monthly, if your spam ratio staying below 10-15% of total backlinks and real links are growing, just ignore the junk completely.

It's pretty common on new sites, I wouldn't panic over it unless you see a real impact on rankings. Google usually ignores most of those random spam links.
