A few days ago, a website can get a good amount of traffic from discover but then the traffic suddenly drops and even noting has been changed in the site. It makes discover feel much harder to understand than normal google search.

Had your discover traffic stayed stable or does it go up and down without any clear reason ?

Discover wil alway be riskier than normal search as it is based on user action, recency and trending interest. In my understanding, this mean extra trafic instead of reliable trafic.

In my experience, Google Discover traffic is much more volatile than regular search traffic. It can spike or disappear even when nothing changes on the site. Discover relies heavily on user interests, freshness, and Google’s testing, so I wouldn’t treat it as a predictable traffic source. It’s better to use it as a bonus rather than depend on it.

In my opinion Discover is inherently unstabble. A page could be working very well for a while nd then start slowing down even though nothing changes about the website itself. This is the reason y i consider traffic from Discover as an extra nd not something I rely on.

Discover rewards fresh and engaging content. That's why a page can get a lot of traffic for few days but once user interest drops then the traffic also drops.

Yes mine goes up and down as well. Sometimes a post gets a big burst of traffic then drops almost overnight. I treat discover as a bonus source rather than something i expect to stay consistent.

I've noticed the same thing. Discover traffic can rise and fall without any obvious reason, even when nothing changes on the site. Keeping content fresh helps, but some fluctuations seem to be part of how Discover works.

There is no doubt that Discover is far more volatile than normal search. There have been times when I've had an increase in traffic for some days followed by a crash, but there have been no site changes at all.

I don't think a sudden drop always means something is wrong with the website. Discover traffic can change based on trends and audience interest.

Yes, Discover traffic can feel unstable because it depends heavily on user interests, trends, and Google’s algorithm changes.
