Choosing the right hosting is harder than I thought

I went through the same rabbit hole before, and tbh the reviews only made it more confusing.
Been using LuxHost lately and it does the job without too much noise
My rule now is simple: pick a host that doesnt make you babysit the site. If support answers fast, the panel isnt a pain, backups are there, and the site loads clean without random slowdowns, thats already better than most.

Uptime and support response time matter way more than raw specs once you're past the hobby stage. Cheap hosts are fine untill you actually need help during an outage and get ignored for hours. Worth checking real ticket response times, not just the marketing pages.

If it's anything with a commercial value, you should not consider shared hosting.
Get a VPS or a start up dedicated server right away.
Then I'd look if the host owns its infrastructure, that way you can be sure you're not overpaying for a middleman.
Plenty of companies will offer hosting that may seem cheap at first, but once it renews, or if you'll need any sort of upgrade you may end up paying often notable extras.
Look for a fine print and whether you really understand what you get from the specifications. You don't want to pay extra for basic important things such as additional domains / SSL certificates etc.
In fact it's very importnat to look how can you terminate the contract in case you're not satisfied with the price / value ratio. Many will try to lure you with a discounted trial into a long term auto-renewing contract.
The tech specifications wil depend on what type of sites you want to run aka what GEO's you target, if you plan to stream video etc.
But even if you'd only needed landing pages for media buying or email marketing - fast loading time and stability is absolutely crucial.
