The videos that helped my channel grow the most were the ones based on proven ideas. Instead of guessing topics, I started looking at outlier videos in my niche and making my own version. Once a format worked, I kept building on it instead of changing direction every upload.
Everybody cares about the type of video, but it is really the knowledge of what your viewer is searching for that will drive growth. From my personnal experience, videos that are solving an actual problem and hold the viewers to the very end will do much better than just trying to go viral.
