Is YouTube still the best platform for building authority?

from what i have seen youtube is still one of the strongest platforms for building authority because long form content helps people understand your expertise in depth but linkedin newsletters and podcasts are also becoming powerful depending on your audience and niche

honestly it kinda depends what you mean by authority. like authority with strangers who never heard of you vs authority with people deciding whether to hire/buy. youtube wins the second one easy cuz a 15 min video showing you actually solving the thing beats any amount of clever posts. but for the first one, distribution wise, X and linkedin will get you in front of way more new eyes faster.
what i'd do is treat one platform as the proof layer and the rest as discovery. youtube or a long writeup is where the real substance lives, then you chop it up and push it on linkedin/X to pull people back. that combo compounds. a lone tweet doesnt.
also nobody mentioned it but search matters a lot for authority too. youtube vids and decent newsletters both get indexed and keep pulling people months later. social posts die in a day. so if youre thinking long game id lean toward the stuff that has a shelf life.

from what i have seen youtube still stands out because long videos give you more space to show knowledge and build trust over time that said combining it with platforms like linkedin or newsletters usually creates stronger long term authority than relying on one platform alone

Youtube is basically a premium platform where people engage on your videos if it consists of great quality and you can create a loyal community by being one of the best channels in your niche. Offer a lot of quality and personality to your videos, once youtube detects that your videos provide high value , they basically whitelist your channel, you get more views than other channels in your niche and for long period like years. So yes its the best to build authority as long as you do it right.

I think YouTube is still one of the best platforms for building long-term authority because video creates more trust. That said, combining YouTube with LinkedIn or a newsletter is even more effective, since each platform reaches a different audience.

It depends on your niche. LinkedIn works great for B2B, while YouTube remains hard to beat for education and evergreen content.

YouTube remains the optimal platform for building in-depth credibility due to its ability to distribute lengthy content, but a multi-channel approach is the most effective trend.
I still believe that YouTube is the platform which is most effectiive in establishing credibility as u can showcase ur knowledge, personality, and communication skills. However it larggely depends on what niche u r operating in as LinkedIn, podcasting, and newsletters can establish more meaningful relationships with your target audience.
