Yes, it's heading that way, and the why matters more than the hype.
The official Telegram Ads panel has opened up a lot. The old enterprise only entry is gone, so smaller advertisers can actually run campaigns now, and that alone pulls in a fresh wave of spend.
What sets it apart from Meta or Google is where the click lands. An ad points to a channel or a bot, so the whole funnel lives inside Telegram. No jump to an outside site, less drop off, and you're reaching people already sitting in a niche community about your exact topic.
It's still early enough that CPMs are cheap and the space isn't saturated, which is the opposite of where Meta sits right now.
The catch is that it rewards operators, not tourists. Approval is strict, the creative has to stay soft, and geo and content rules are real. So it becomes a major channel for the people who treat it as its own ecosystem, a clean bridge channel plus a tight funnel, not a copy of a Facebook campaign.
