As a beginner, I sometimes feel like it is easy to chase trending topics, but they don't always bring long term traffic or loyal readers.
Do you think focusing on evergreen, helpful content is a better strategy than following trends, especially for new blogs?

To keep things going, you have to do a bit of both. Can't ignore the current trends in hope of evergreen content generating enough value for you over a period of time.

Trends bring quick traffic but evergreen is what pays the bills long term, better to mix both if you can.

Evergreen content is better for long term growth and consistent traffic. Trends can help spikes, but beginners should prioritize solving real problems and building authority first, then mix in trends strategically.

Evergreen content is almost always the better foundation for a new blog. Trending topics can spike your traffic for a week, but once the trend dies the article becomes dead weight. A good middle ground is writing evergreen content that also touches on a current angle, so you get the search longevity without completely ignoring what people are talking about right now.

Yes, for a new blog, useful, sustainable content is often better than chasing trends. Trends may bring quick but short-lived traffic, while articles that solve real problems will accumulate long-term search traffic and build trust.

Yes in my opinion ever green and helpful content is a much better option from chasing trends because it enables you to become an authority on it. Also you won't loose time chasing all the trendy new stuff which sometimes can feel overwhelming and also it distracts you. Focus on 1 thing/niche build your website around it and monetize the website... It's that simple!

if you have to pick one early on, evergreen value wins but ignoring trends completely is also a mistake. The real leverage is in how you combine them, not choosing sides.

I think both have their place, but it depends on your goal.

Trending topics can help bring quick traffic and visibility, especially for new blogs. But as you mentioned, that traffic usually doesn’t last long.

Evergreen content, on the other hand, builds a more stable foundation over time and can keep bringing visitors consistently.

What seems to work well is using trends to get attention, and then guiding that traffic toward evergreen content that provides long-term value.

I’ve found that mixing in a few trend posts works kind of like turning on a bright sign so people notice the rest of your stuff. The key for me was making sure the evergreen posts didn’t feel dry, so folks actually stick around. Trends pull them in, but the long-haul pieces are what make them think hey, this person actually knows their thing.

You should choose topics with long-term sustainable value rather than chasing trends. Trends can change and lose effectiveness over time, while core niches tend to remain stable and sustainable in any period.

both works, depend on the trend traffics.they might find and get stumb,it best depend on the presentation of the remake copy upload to interest other profiles.

trends give quick spikes but die fast
evergreen is slower but stacks traffic over time
best mix is a few trends to get visits then mostly evergreen for stability

Trends give quick traffic, but evergreen content is what actually builds steady rankings and long term visitors, especially for new blogs.

Evergreen content is more reliable for building authority and organic traffic over time. trending topiccs moves fast and it can be hard for new blogs to compete.

I like mixing in trend posts as little traffic magnets, but I treat them as side quests. What really moved the needle for me was linking those quick-hit posts to solid evergreen stuff so readers stick around instead of bouncing. Even a simple internal link chain can stretch the life of a trend post way past its expiry date.

If I see something blowing up on social in 2026, I’ll write a quick post to catch the wave, but I always tuck in links to my older, evergreen stuff while I’m at it. Feels like letting the trendy traffic stumble onto my best guides kills two birds with one stone. Tracking with analytics helps me spot which type is pulling in more eyeballs over time.

I dont think its an either or choice. I would use trending topics to attract new visitors but evergreen content is what gives them a reason to stay. Thats probably the balance i would aim for.

I'd prioritize evergreen content first, trens come and go, but useful content can keep bringing traffic for years if it's done well.

It is always considered to be an optional part of SEO marketing, but it is actually a process. Trending is merely a preliminary stage because even though they attract new pple fast, they are of no use on their own.

Evergreen adds value. Without linking themsielves to a greater collection of evergreen articles, trends are just passing by.
