Don't take sides - Be Neutral
Avoid controversial topics.
Initially find a decent amount active subs where you will comment get noticed easily
Also, join a few of your own interest subs where you can write more on every topic.

I started by answering simple questions in smaller communities I liked. I avoided spam, left helpful comments every day, and the karma slowly increased without trying to force it.

Focus on smaller niche communities instead of trying to post in the biggest subreddits right away and spend the first few weeks leaving thoughtful comments on topics. Karma didn't come overnight, but once you built a consistent history of helpful contributions, participating in more communities became much easier.

What helped me early on was focusing on active discussions in smaller subreddits. Instead of posting a lot then i just left helpful comments where people were already engaging. Over time a few of those comments got upvoted and that slowly built karma much more naturally than trying to post everywhere at once.
