I'm about to start my legal content business, and I'm seeing lots of conflicting opinions as to whether I should be going for a fully fledged wordpress.org blog with SEO/GEO and other plugins etc... or whether I should be focused instead on building a paid newsletter audience on Ghost.org or Substack?
I can see a market for both, (1) a website with tons of free content with digital products, ads, and affiliate links, and (2) a newsletter with some free content and some premium content accessible for $10 a month, with affiliate links.
(Socials will be used to promote both)
Which is the more likely to be the best strategy in 2026 as things stand? All I see these days are how Google isn't going to give you traffic anymore, and a smaller engaged newsletter audience that gives you $10 a month is the far bigger asset in 2026.
