Does anyone else find Reddit rules confusing sometimes ?

Hello,

I have been using Reddit recently and one thing I have noticed is that every Subreddit has its own way of doing things.

Sometimes, I spend time in writing a post but than I realize that the rules are different from what I expected. A post that is completely fine in one subreddit can get removed form another.

I am not complaining because I know every community has its own rules but it makes posting confusing sometimes for me.

How do you make sure that your post matches a subreddit's rule before you hit the post button.

I always spend a minute checking the rules and top posts before posting It saves a lot of time, and you quickly get a feel for what the community actually accepts

This!

Despite all this, some communities may feel they give you a brutal response and are being unfair. But you don't have an option to combat them!
 
as a beginner i think reddit rules are confusing but once you understand how community works then it will easy to use.
 
I agree. Reddit's policies can be very difficult to fully understand, and keeping an account from being suspended or banned is one of the biggest challenges for users.
 
I generally read the subreddit rules first, then I check a few recent posts. It gives me a good idea of what the community actually allows to post.
 
I still dont fully understand how Reddit works. I’ve already had two accounts banned, and togethe those accounts have not even posted or replied to more than 20 posts.
 
Yes, very common. Each subreddit has its own rules, so posts can get removed even if they seem fine. I usually check the sidebar rules and recent top posts before posting.
 
it's confusing because the rules depend on the subreddits you're in.

So, sometimes you have to adapt. And Reddit doesnt always disclose everything;
 
There’s also a huge amount of unwritten rules when trying to post content on Reddit, since their algo will actively track your fingerprint to check for mismatches and flag you.
 
I agree. Reddit's policies can be challenging to navigate, and avoiding account suspensions or bans is one of the biggest hurdles users face.
 
I also check if links, images, or promotional posts are allowed. Every subreddit is different, so I always check first.
