Instagram isn't a charity; it’s a pay-to-play engine. The algorithm doesn't care about the age of your account or how 'small' you are; it cares about one metric: retention. If your content keeps users on the platform, you get reach. If it doesn't, you get buried.

No you still can grow fresh made acc, just need to choose right niche bc some of them are "overloaded" with content

Started a couple fresh accounts late last year and the early reach was actually decent, like @yetawise said it sat flat for a bit then one reel just took off and pulled the rest up. The thing nobody really mentions is watch time vs saves... I noticed the reels that got pushed werent always my "best" ones, just the ones people rewatched. Niche matters too, jumped into one that was way oversaturated and it basically went nowhere no matter what i posted. So yeah growth without paid is doable, just slower and a lot more random than it used to be. @Karmarunner1 there are tools that read your past post performance but honestly most of them just tell you what you already see in insta insights, didnt find them worth paying for.

Not really, If you know how to find the right niche with just viral reels and content you still have oportunity to grow faster too.
I think growth is still possible but it takes more patience than before posting consistently creating useful content and engaging with your audience can still help a new account grow naturally
Paid promotion can help but i do not think it is the only way to build an audience

Yes, it feels more competitive now. Bigger accounts have an advantage, but I still see new creators growing by posting consistently, following trends, and making content people enjoy sharing with others.

Yes consistent growth possible on new account without paid promotion. For that you have to must understand instagram algorithm and post qualityful content. I suggest you to post reels atleast 3 a week. Also you have to use proper captions and relatable hashtags. If you post consistently you’ll grow for sure
Of course, there is no denying that it has become more difficult. However, I do not think that small creators are fully shut out. It may be difficult for new accounts, but they can still succeed if they have a target market, quality content that engages users, and are able to stick to something for a while to see what works.
While I do not think that Instagram only promotes large creators, the scope for mediocre content has become significaintly reduced. It is possible to develop an account, but the number of followers does not seem to be as important as the first few seconds, watch time, and whether the content is be shared.

it's become more challenging, but not really impossible bro. new accounts can still grow organically if you can stay consistent and publish content that really attract people. bro maybe growth takes longer now and dont be too rely on one viral reel or post, u have to it build a recognizable niche and giving people a reason to follow after they watch your content
But I do not believe that Instagram only favors the larger creatorsit just becomes increasingly difficult to hide poor quality content behind the veil. The small pages can definitely rise to prominence too, but the content will have to prove itself fast through views and shares. The first few seconds are what counts right now.
It’s not true at all. By good content with consistency new account can get consistent growth.

It is definitely harder to grow and scale, however with reels you can grow fast if you go viral.

Best platform to scale fast to 6-7 figures. But it has a sandbox for the first 30 days that's all. When you say new accounts look dead, then you not know how to create reels that hooks and triggers , only those type of reels IG will show to a bigger audience help you push forward. (organical without ads)

With the right type of reels you will gaining 2-3000 followers organical easy every month. Create b roll reels too to keep them engaged , Influencers writing more than 1 reel a day.

I think growth is still possible for new accounts. It feels slower now, but posting consistently, making interesting Reels, and engaging with people has helped many small creators grow naturally.
