I have been wondering how important seo is for you tube videos today. with you tube's algorithm becoming more focused on watch time, engagement and recommendations.

for creators and marketers here , do you still actively focus on you tube seo when uploading videos?

love to hear your experience

Yes, but it’s no longer the main factor. SEO helps YouTube understand and categorize your video, but watch time, CTR, engagement, and viewer retention have a bigger impact on reach. I still optimize every upload, but content quality comes first.

I still pay attention to YouTube SEO because it helps the algorithm understand what your video is about in the first place. Good titles, descriptions, and keywords won't save weak content, but they can give strong content a better chance of being discovered.

I am heavily depend on SEO . All my local seo websites ( local niche services ) depend on tiered link building like t1 >>t2 >> t3 works charm there.. But i had never luck with link building for youtube while my fellow friend still doing and earning some decent youtube is not works for me. Its me. But still i am trying to get understand how youtube difference (algo ) form search engines for backlink citations

It’s still useful for indexing and search traffic. On YouTube, but most views now come from suggested and homepage, not search.

Yes, I still focus on YouTube SEO. Good titles, keywords, and descriptions help videos get discovered. Watch time and engagement are very important, but SEO gives the algorithm better information about the content.

yes, definitely. I now pay attention to things like page speed , headings , internal linking , URL structure and how content is organized . its hard to browse a website without analyzing its seo anymore.

Yes, but I think YouTube understands videos much better now. SEO still helps, but keeping people watching is even more important.

yes, still focus on you tube seo. Good titles , keywords ,descriptions and thumbnails help videos get discovered , while watch time and engagemnet help them keep growing . both are important.

Yes, I still pay attention to YouTube SEO because it helps videos get discovered through search, especially in the first few days after publishing. But watch time, audience retention, and engagement are what really determine how far YouTube's algorithm will push the video.

YouTube SEO is still important, but only to support other elements. Titles, keywords, and description are useful for indexing, but what really matters are views and CTR.
SEO is more about “packaging” for the algorithm than a direct growth channel

SEO still counts, but only for basic discovery. Modern growth is about clicks, view time, and engagement, not only keywords
SEO simply enables the algorithm to understand the video

of course seo always work in ytb but it yah it’s not important as before. YouTube base on seo to understand and categorize your video, but now viewer retention is much matter on reach.

Yeah it still matters but not in the old keyword stuffing way. I focus more on titles that match search intent and thumbnails that boost CTR. Watch time and retention do the heavy lifting, but good SEO still helps videos get their first wave of views.

I still pay attention to YouTube SEO, but I don't rely on it alone. A clear title, relevant keywords, and a good description help people discover the video. After that, watch time, audience retention, and engagement make the biggest difference. In my experience, SEO gets people to click, while quality content keeps the video growing.

SEO remains an integral part of YouTube promotion because it boosts recommendations; furthermore, prioritizing content quality and engagement enhances organic reach and video effectiveness, so I believe you can pursue these strategies simultaneously.

Although I do my basic YouTube SEO now I focus more on creating better thumbnals and making the first 30 seconds of the video really appealing as it is more effective compared to just having good keywords,,

My best performing videos combined solid SEO with compelling thumbnails and high watch time, that's what consistently worked.
